Having read previous reviews, my boyfriend and I were slightly worried about what we were coming to, we however feel that some of the reviews on here have been misplaced for the other Rennie Mackintosh hotel in Glasgow, we stayed in the one near the School of Art. When we arrived at 1pm our room was ready, however we felt... More

I must have been staying at a different hotel or my standards must be really low. As I spent one night at The Rennie Macintosh hotel and did not have any complaints and I had a comfortable nights sleep. The night porter was friendly and polite and there was tea and coffee facilities in the room. I was in room... More

Not a bad place to stay for the price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very basic but did the job. Location was great, close to town but still quite. I would stay here again ☺ Stayed here with my sister.

Nice and clean hotel, but nothing spectacular. It was ok for a budget stay at new year. Would visit again, but only if necessary. Receptionist was helpful enough and was able to book a taxi for us quite promptly. Nothing special, but not bad.

If you are used to staying in hotels with filthy beds, stained with urine and faeces, carpets with God knows what on them, you will love it here! Otherwise keep well away! Even after the receptionist saw the state of the bedding, and agreed she wouldn't sleep in it, still the owner refused to speak to us! The street itself... More

I think some of the good reviews for this hotel have been posted thinking it's the Rennie Mackintosh Hotel opposite the school of art. This place, near Central Station, is a dump. I am surprised that it is allowed to remain open, surely some inspector or other visits these places. There is no access at all for anyone with mobility... More

Stayed in the hotel now on two occasions, once last year (2013) and again this year. Funnily enough we ended up in the same room as last time, fit for 3 people. Staff are very friendly and approachable, especially when we had a problem with the room. Rooms are looked after but bathrooms are on a low standard, we did... More

This was a budget hotel and that was what we wanted. For the price we could not have expected anymore, clean and comfortable basic accommodation. Yes it could do with updating but if it were updated to the standard some reviewer seem to feel is necessary then it would be more than twice the price. Good basic accommodation, there is... More

It ruined our visit to Glasgow. We've had the "basement room", #1, just in front of the breakfast room. We are not the complaining type but this hotel realy isn't worth the money: - stains on the wall. You can't avoid them because the bed is realy close to it - hot water and cold water taps inverted - old... More

I have stayed in many hotels, budget hotels which have been better than 5 star experiences on occasion. I have never come across one which was so filthy and dirty with so many inexplicable stains on the walls and curtains. Pieces of the carpet in the room were misisng and the carpet itself was vile. The tiles on the floor... More
