on the plus side reasonably priced, great breakfasts and nice friendly and hospitable service. Whiskey on arrival is nice. Restaurant has great food and bar is nice. Comfortable lounge and nice stained glass period features. Overall we enjoyed our stay. on the negative - weird sized HUGE room, small bathroom; of course it is a converted house (or houses), the... Stayed for a an overnight stay in February 2015 as a late Valentines day getaway. Aware of it's great reputation we had very high expectations and standards and we were not let down. On our arrival we were met by very friendly staff who offered me a Macallan whiskey but strangely nothing for my girlfriend. We were informed that our... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights. The building is a lovely conversion full of character, but easy to get lost going up and down the stairs. The staff were friendly and attentive. The bar was good to relax in. Our room was in the top of the “house”. It was spacious with a good-sized bathroom. The bed was... More

We stayed at the Hotel Du Vin on the recommendation of friends and we weren't disappointed. Luxurious rooms and very friendly service made this a perfect stay. Both of our rooms had all the facilities you'd expect in a luxury hotel. Espresso maker, kettle, Sky TV, Bose sound system, B&W sound system. We'll be back.

This is a lovely building or rather 3-4 lovely adjacent buildings converted into a hotel. There are many sets of stairs (no lift that I found) and I got lost a few times going from our room, Villa Maria, to the bar or the bistro. Our bathroom was huge and had an old style deep bath but tricky to get... More

Stayed here once before when it was just One Devonshire Gardens. Lovely big room, huge bathroom. Ate in the bistro and had a superb meal (rabbit followed by halibut). Staff are great. My only criticism is that, given the amount of dark wood panelling throughout, better lighting would help. I struggled to read the menu in the bar and the... More

We didn't stay at the hotel but dined in Hotel du Vin Bistro on a 5pm big deal voucher. The food was delicious and we enjoyed having champagne by the open fire before we went though to the bistro. The bistro itself was lovely. It was very quiet and subdued when we first sat down but by the time we... More

We booked a classic room for a special wedding anniversary. On the online booking this information was noted. On arrival we booked in and were shown to our room within 'house 3'. On entering the room my initial thought was that it was very dated and had a late 90's feel to the decor. What did stand out was that... More
