Stayed recently at this hotel. From reading previous reviews I was a bit weary. However it wasnt as bad as some reviews stated. The rooms yes are small however they are very very clean. Furniture in rooms is a little dated. The bed was comfortable with crisp white sheets. Bathroom was clean and a few toiletries would be welcomed. An... More

Lovely from the outside, then your given a key to a claustrophobic cupboard where's there about enough room to turn around, quite far out too.... Staff were quite helpful but we definitely wouldn't come back here I'm afraid thankfully it was only the one night.

The location is excellent - one bus-ride from the city centre, and within walking distance of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. My room was fine. Unlike the last time, there was no misleading booklet - no booklet at all. There was a lift, which is important to me. My only complaint was about the breakfast. I thought I had... More

I've stayed here twice. It's a really nice hotel, beautiful rooms, great location, my only issue was that on our second stay we were given a wet room as opposed to a shower room which to me felt a bit cheap with a damp and quite smelly shower curtain. The first time we stayed though we had a lovely ensuite.... More

Ok , so the hotel looks fancy from the website and neatly presented pictures , but in reality I found it spooky , the rooms were small , the entire decor is dark , and with motion sensor lights the corridors are pitch black , the fire doors ( so many of them ) make the walk from the elevator... I stayed with my 11 year old son from the 6th to the 9th of August. We had a very small double room but it was fine as we were only there at night. We were on the first floor and the noise from the extractor fans outside was very loud but I used ear plugs at night. I was... More

I arrived at the Lorne hotel at 7.10 pm mid week after a 2 1/2 hour drive to be told my room was not available. The hotel had oversold rooms. The receptionist apologised but offered no real alternative given the hotel had erred. I was told that a room had been booked in a hotel across the road (The Sandyford... More

Hello Colin, My sincerest apologies on the situation you encountered. it's clear that on this occasion we have let you down. Due to an error on our part, the hotel had inadvertently oversold one of our bedrooms. This was an extremely regrettable issue for which I extend my sincerest apologies. We did arrange alternative accommodation for you in a same... More

Hotel is situated in the centre of Glasgow which is ideal for anyone wishing to visit the city centre. Easy reach of train station etc. Reception staff very nice and helpful, hotel nice enough and rooms were nice also. Only downfall was the size of the room that we were in as it was really really small. Other thn that... More

Hello Steffi, Thank you so much for your review of The Lorne Hotel. I'm delighted to read your comments. Some of our rooms are neat and cosy in size, however we believe in offering a comfortable bed in the room and a bar and restaurant downstairs that mean you don't want to be in the room except to sleep. Very... More
