We found the hotel's location to be good with easy access to Kelvingrove Park, not too noisy at night and a 20 minute walk found you in the CBD. The room was adequate, not a heap of space but had a good ensuite. Be aware that there are no lifts at the hotel so lugging suitcases up to the top... More

This is the 1st time we stayed in The Acorn. We usually go for 4 star but were pleasantly surprised as this is a lovely wee hotel. The girl on reception was really nice, Louise I think her name was. She even serviced our room on our 1st day after the cleaner knocked our door four times on the Saturday... More

We apologise if you felt that the housekeeper was over zealous, the person in question was relatively new and had not up until that point had any guest ask them to come back, she did eventually ask Louise what she should do and Louise informed her that she had to let you know that she finished at 1.30 and if... Good position for visiting the centre or the West End, entrance to Kelvingrove Park just down the road. Single room not over large, but nicely decorated, clean and a lovely modern bathroom. Bed comfy altho' pillows not too soft. For an old building the dividing walls seemed very thin and there was noise from the adjoining rooms which didn't aid... More

Having just arrived after an overnight flight, we really appreciated the attentive service of the front desk. The room was not large but adequate with a nice view. The place was clean, although the carpet in our room could do with an upgrade. Parking across the hotel seemed to be always available at around £4 per day. The hotel serves... More

We were having a night out with friends in the West End and stayed at the Acorn. Good price, spacious and clean room. Shower was a little cold in the morning, but we slept in a bit so maybe not a lot of hot water left? Did wake slightly earlier than expected as couple in room next to us were... More

We arrived on the 16th or March 2013 (yesterday). After looking at the excellent reviews and looking online my partner and I were excited for our short over night stay! Upon arrival the woman who served us was friendly. She was knowledgable about the hotel and told us what we had to know regarding the hotel. We were in room... More

In response to this rather lengthy review, we would like to take the points in order, firstly the remarks regarding the lemon smell in the room, yes we do use air freshener and we do like our rooms to be fresh smelling when guest's arrive, however if you have a problem with strong smells etc then a quick call to... Superb location, 5 minute walk into Glasgow. The rooms were small but very well accommodated from hair straighteners / hair dryer to complimentary biscuits. Plenty of hot water and clean environment. Didn't opt for breakfast (£8 each) and popped to town. I would have gave the place five stars but the website stated reduced parking and a 12:00hrs check-in. Neggers... More

The location very good: walking distance to city centre. The hotel looks really nice and modern: nice design, fancy shower. But the shower was not very good, wasn't getting very hot. Breakfast was 'ok', not very good quality of the food. I must the say we had a good price.
