We had booked this hotel for two nights as a midweek break, mostly for its location, which is centrally located in St Andrews. We have stayed in the area many times and this was a special occasion. The staff in the bar and restaurant areas were superb and provided everything we needed upon request. The food was also excellent both... More

We were booked in to the hotel next to Ardgowan hotel (the Pilmour). Access is by going through the pub and first impressions not good. Bad smell from bar area (not many customers for the 2 nights we stayed so no wonder!). Staff were great though and bed was comfortable but the room was very small! Hardly any room for... More

On a good day , it's quite nice to sit outside the hotel in the afternoon sun and people watch. We had a pub lunch which was far more imaginative than you'd find in most places in Scotland and tasted really delicious. £20 including beer and wine for two is pretty good value as well.

I stayed in the Pilmour section of the hotel as I wanted a king bed. This is definitely older than main hotel and could do with upgrading. Bathroom needed a good scrub and the WiFi didn't work (we couldn't get a signal) but otherwise the room suited our needs. Location is perfect to explore everything St. Andrews has to discover,... Booked this through Laterooms.com, £70 per night for a double room. This was just for the room and did not include breakfast. To upgrade to the breakfast was £11 each per day - £44, I dont thinks so. Walked round corner to Subway and had a lovely roll sauge and egg for £2. Work is going on outside hotel and... More

I booked a room through Laterooms.com because we were going to a gig in St Andrews and we were struggling to find digs anywhere else. It was one of the only places left under £100 (paid £70) but felt it was overpriced. The staff were alright, the room was ok, mibbie a bit warm and we couldn't get fresh air... More

We booked the Pilmour through one of the last minute web sites and were a bit concerned about some of the reviews we read. We've stayed in quite a few places in St Andrews and all things considered we would go back to the Pilmour. Some reviews mentioned that it was quite noisy as it is basically a pub with... More

Many thanks for your kind review. It is nice to read that our hard work to turn the hotel around since buying in March 2011 and added to our existing hotel next door is pay off. Gary Manager More

Many thanks for your review however there is a few discrepinces that we feel we need to clear up for future guests. We are close to the Old Course, just around the corner from the 18th hole view, only 200 metres away, at no point in our advertising do we state you have views of the Old Course. Check in... More

The Pilmour is now under new management and has been totally transformed into a new modern sports bar/hotel. Having stayed there before I have really noticed the changes, which show committment for making the establishment work. I can see this place will be a great success and wish them all the best.
