Very nice guesthouse; well located if you're playing golf at St-Andrew's Links; the owners are very welcoming and helpful (in restaurant reservation in particular).

We spent a week at Brownlees which is a minute away from the view of the sea and the famous (Chariots of fire) West Sands. The weather was exceptionally bad for the time of year but the accommodation was so comfortable and peaceful that it was a pleasure to stay indoors. great location very central in St. Andrews. Room (single) was cozy and sufficient. Trevor and Jacqueline are excellent hosts, full of information and helpful tips (like a printout of the ballot for the Old Course the next day). Breakfast is excellent and is also filling. Good value, comfortable, excellent location!

My husband and I spent six nights at Brownlees and loved every minute of it. Our room was lovely (spacious and comfortable); the food was excellent and plentiful, and our hosts were friendly and helpful. Just back from a 3 night stay at this B&B to attend a hogmanay wedding. We had booked to stay next door at the Charlesworth but they sold their property and proposed Brownlees...and we certainly can't complain about the change. Jaqueline and Trevor are extraordinary hosts, providing us not only with great breakfast and great recommendations where to go for food and drinks or which course to play, but simply made us feel at home. Stayed here for four days in October.....husband hit the links....and I did some exploring of the town....after fabulous breakfasts.....nights in cozy room....spotless bathroom with extra touches like make-up remover wipes.....all that and an offer to make us non Brits a nice big pot off coffee in the afternoon......thanks Trevor & Jacqueiine for your warm hospitality......

Good overall, refused access to any toilet facilities when collecting bags having spent a lot of money there.Have been regular clients but not again after the cursory way we were treated.
