It could have been that there were no vacancies for the dates we asked about, but surely we should still have been afforded the basic courtesy of a reply? Accommodation providers such as these do nothing to enhance the reputation of a welcoming and hospitable Scotland and, as such, are not deserving of custom. more
I loved staying at this B&B. The owner was friendly and I just loved having the chickens running around in the garden. They produced some excellent eggs for breakfast. This was our third visit to Abbey Cottage. It is excellent value for money.The rooms are clean and cosy. The breakfast is delicious and plenty of it. Sharing a large dining table in a beautiful room gives an opportunity to chat to other guests. The owmer is very welcoming and helpful. The cottage garden is a delight. more
The location is good and the price is good -- but the B&B-keeper runs her B&B like a boarding house. No comfy talks or helpful hints. The woman is a very interesting artiste -- photographer and musician, but the B&B seems to be a way to make money without extending a lot of other niceties. Also everything is "half" --... more
