We've visited this place a couple of times, most recently on 28th December. Staff are always friendly and helpful, the menu is varied enough for most tastes, and we were served promptly. The bar area caters for those who wish to watch Sky Sports, and the restaurant area at the back is separate enough, with open tables and booths to... More

This was our second visit, and once again we had a relaxed, comfortable stay. The rooms are large, welcoming and well equipped. The decor in our room was showing some signs of wear and tear but it didn't spoil our visit. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was plentiful and of a good quality. In all a perfect... Had a fantastic night at this hotel! The hospitality was second to none! We enjoyed the Christmas menu which was delicious! The Scottish breakfast the next morning was also a winner! The staff were so attentive and the rooms were lovely! I would definitely stay in this hotel again! It has a very homely feel and we were made most... More

Stayed here with an Irish group who have being going for 12 years. Was my first time going and had an amazing time. The location of the hotel could not be beaten for a golfer. a walk to all first tees to shake the cobwebs off. I was in room 102 and its huge with a great view. Good showers... More

I booked a double room in Greyfriars as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday. We found Greyfriars bar/restaurant to be friendly with a good atmosphere. The double room we stayed in was room 208. It was fine for us, not huge in size but had a grand sized flatscreen TV with bath/shower and safety deposit box facilities. We were able... More

Booked this hotel as an add on to a weeks holiday spent elsewhere as we wanted to explore St. Andrews. Ideal location as you can easily walk to old course etc and also town centre. Really pleased with room size three beds in a large family room which was a refreshing change for my kids who usually find themselves on... More

Nice hotel. We were in one of the rooms on the top floor which had roof windows. The room was very warm, but the widows could be opened fully. The room was a good size. Nice bar down stairs and the breakfast was lovely with plenty to choose from.

We stayed here for two nights. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfy, with plenty of pillows provided. The breakfasts were tasty, with plenty of choice. The only slight negative is that the bathroom could do with some slight repairs. The ceiling plaster was cracked and peeling. Also, there was a shower panel but you couldn't open... More

Way, way, overpriced for what you get. The price was 4*, at nearly 200 for a single traveller, but what you get is solid, perfectly nice, low-to-mid range chain hotel standard. It's just a pub with decent rooms above, but the description suggests fancier than that. St. Andrews is expensive, and start of university term probably hiked the price up,... More

Just completed a week's stay at the Greyfriars and once again I would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you're going to play golf. I've stayed here for the last three years and Jinti, the General Manger, is the greatest. The whole staff is friendly and accommodating to all your needs. Paul, the chef, is very good and the...
