We had an idyllic time in St. Andrews and our stay at Castlemount only made it better. This is a great B&B, directly in front of the Castle and an easy walk to the Cathedral, the university and restaurants. The walk to the Old Course is longer but definitely a great stroll if you have leisure time. Our hostess was... more

We were 6 guys walking the Coastal Path, and had the pleasure of staying at the Castlemount for 2 nights. The location was superb opposite the Caste ruins. The rooms were all superb, and Breakfast was faultless. The host and hostess were lovely people who made us feel like friends rather than paying guests We will definetly be back more

As a single traveller you don't expect the best but I got it. A ground floor room spacious and with a four poster.Extreemly comfortable with a stunning view directly of the floodlit Castle over the road and beyond over the bay. A very warm welcome from the owners and all service was very helpful with the loan of umbrellas etc.... more

I didn't made a reservation, I stopped and I was just lucky to get the last room free. The location is unique: infront of it there is the old Castle of the famous golf town and the sea. The room was clean, victorian furniture, warm, with a private bathroom. The brekfast was excellent, more than wat I get in the... more

The house is full of character.....the location gets an A+......and the landlady is very welcoming and friendly....... However, we accidentally exited the house through the wrong door and a lady (the daughter?) with a dog who was entering the house at the same time was very rude to us about it. Also, it was impossible for us to open any... more

My daughter and I stayed at the Castlemount when visiting St Andrews University for an open day. We had a terrible journey north - puncture - and arrived three hours later than we intended. It was lovely to receive an understanding welcome from the owners. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated with one of the most comfortable beds I... more

This was our second stay at the Castlemount and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were looking for somewhere special to stay for my mother's 80th birthday and this fitted the bill perfectly. Her room had a wonderful view of St Andrews Castle and the sea beyond. She said it couldn't have been more comfortable and was like a home-from-home. We... more

We are regular visitors to Castlemount, this is our 5 year now. We just adore everything about it, including the owners. We try and visit at least twice a year and have never been let down by anything about the place...well maybe the weather, but we can't hold Castlemount responsible for that can we?!. First let me tell you about... more

Castlemount B&B is located right across the St Andrews Castle, which meant our rooms had excellent views. The B&B is well-maintained and the rooms were spacious and have a very personal touch to them. Breakfast was marvelous (although I probably put on a few pounds from those mushrooms dripping with butter!) and the view from the dining room spectacular. The... more
