Stayed for couple of nights at end of season. Realise it's geared towards golfers but feel rooms could be better equipped with toiletries. None whatsoever! Room itself was OK although no wardrobes, only rail for clothes. Bar area good with good bar food and breakfast was nice. Many areas of hotel very tired looking.

Thank you for your review having stayed with us as you state at the end of the Season. We do not have toiletries in the rooms soley because our Customer base of mostly gents on golfing trips do not like the scented girly types of shampoo & body wash that you get and likewise, the ladies do not appreciate men... I usually travel by myself and it's always nice to go somewhere I don't feel like a stranger. From my first stay at this wonderful establishment I felt at home. Jack, Sheena, Luke, Cameron, Lindsey and the frequent visit by Mr. David Joy are all wonderful. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in St. Andrews. Can't wait to come back again!

This is a GREAT place to stay in St. Andrews if you love golf, and want to be in the heart of the action. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The Dunvegan is excellently located just a block from the eighteenth green of The Old Course, and it houses the best pub in town...THE gathering place for a lively... More

My wife and I and friends spent 2 nights at the Dunvegan 3 weeks ago. The owners, Jack and Sheena couldn't have been more hospitable! They've owned the Dunvegan for 20+ years and went out of their way to make our stay a great one, but I'd guess they do this for every one of their guests. The location is... More

If you go to St. Andrews, don't miss this iconic experience. Not only does the Dunvegan have the best pub in town, but they make you feel like family when you visit. The food is always excellent, and Sheena and her team made our stay incredibly memorable. Stumbling distance to the links, and a virtual museum of golf history, the... More

My first trip to Scotland and I would never stay at another location! Sheena (Jack was leaving on a golf vacation, but got up at 7:00am to have coffee and greet us before his departure) and the entire staff deserve a standing ovation in regards to charm and friendliness. I was also blown away at the quality of the food!... More

The Dunvegan Hotel is a true gem. The room accommodations are generous and the shower is something to look forward to after days on the local links. The bar is lively and the food is well above pub grub. Located less than a 3 wood from the first tee at the Old Course, Jack and Sheena have created a not... More

A group of us from England have been staying at the Dunvagan Hotel for over 10 years. The owner Jack and Sheena and the staff are so friendly and welcoming, the service and food is 1st class, we are all looking forward to seeing them again next year.

As tunbleweeds blow across an almost deserted bar at Number One Golf Place, next door in the Dunvegan things are jumping. With the place a shrine to golf and every member of staff both welcoming and friendly, plus some terrific bar food available too, is it any wonder that owners, Jack and Sheena, are doing to some local pubs what...
