Just returned from another visit to Old Fishergate House and once again the experience was excellent. The accommodation is first class with the sitting area off the bedroom a bonus, the welcome from Angus and Jennifer warm and genuine with a choice of top quality breakfasts (including the smoked haddock omelette which is worth a visit for alone!). We think... More

The hosts, the location, the breakfasts, the room for 4.... Everything was wonderful. An Italian family just wants to come back soon! Thank you for the friendly and warm welcome and for those incredible stack of bacon and pan cakes with maple syrup, not to mention the haggis....

My husband and I recently stayed two nights in this wonderful B&B. The hosts, Jennifer and Angus, were extremely friendly and helpful, giving us pointers of restaurants and laundry service. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious....even the haggis and black sausage :) They only have two rooms, which are both very large with sitting areas and wonderful thick walls. We had... More

My husband and I recently spent two nights at this wonderful B&B. From start to finish it was an excellent stay. Bedroom lovely, with a modern bathroom. The sitting area off the bedroom was an added bonus, as was the sherry. The breakfasts were excellent. Jennifer made us feel very welcome.

Angus and Jennifer were the perfect host and hostess from the moment you arrived at the beautiful bed and breakfast until we sadly had to leave. The bedroom was an excellent size with very comfortable beds and was more than well supported by a very comfortable sitting room and very modern bathroom. If anything was to surpass the accommodation it was the... If you've read this far down the B&B list, consider yourself fortunate and see if you can snag one of the two beautiful and comfortable rooms. If the B&B had more rooms and was able to accommodate more guests, I'm sure the number of reviews possible would push it well up the current listing. This B&B is well located across... More

The owners of the Old Fishergate House are delightful and friendly. They made us feel very comfortable, cooked and delicious breakfast and gave us a terrific restaurant suggestion for our dinner. The room is so charming and even has a sitting room connected to the bedroom. The bathrooms are updated and modern -- which makes it even more comfortable. I... More

I was on business at the university and my host booked me in here. It is easily the best B & B I have stayed in for years. Everything worked, was charming and avoided being Twee. The hosts are efficient without being overbearing. I went for the full heart attack Scottish breakfast. It was cooked to order and seemed healthy.... More

First stay at Old Fishergate, hopefully not our last. Our room was lovely, but the other couple staying visit regularly and prefer the other room! Everything was of high quality: lovely bed, spacious room, great shower, delicious breakfast and great buttery homemade shortbread! Along with all the other reviews, a consistent five star rating.

This is a delightful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Tucked away on a quiet side street, it is only a short walk to cafes, shops and the sea. The Scores is just at the bottom of the road, which is a beautiful street to wander along. The house itself has a long and interesting history and has been... More
