Room exceptionally clean and airy, very pleasant to stay in. Sadly not able to stay in the train carriage in the garden. Enjoyed seeing a red squirrel from the breakfast conservatory. A little disappointed that, apart from the railway carriage, nothing was made of the 'Old Station' - would have been fascinated to have seen old pictures, memorabilia, stories.

Ideal stay for golfers. Comfortable ,not spacious bur room to relax. Most hospitable, recommending restaurants in the town etc. Mine host a keen golfer, has connections with Fairmont St Andrews course. Excellent breakfast. Definatley worth a visit.

The train carriage has accommodation for two couples in it. We stayed in the back carriage and really enjoyed it. It was well heated, clean and the bed was large. The breakfast was good and the owner very personable. Close to St. Andrews, but in a quiet countryside location. No wifi in room, but wifi available for free in lounge... More

Fiona greeted us after our long drive over the highland countryside from Nairn. We stayed two nights in the Africa Room and enjoyed an inexpensive (and quick) Taxi ride to town (drink/drive laws in Scotland are unforgiving, as they should be). Colin whipped up a delightful Scottish breakfast for us and booked us a tee time at the Fairmont...one of... More

Gorgeous location, in a quiet and peaceful spot, just outside St. Andrews, which can be easily reached by car (3 minutes). Rooms are very nice (price is reasonable and fair for such a place) and breakfast is excellent. For a different and old-fashioned experience, we recommend the two suites built in an old train wagon parked in the garden. We... More

We found it a great location in picturesque surroundings! Just having a glass of wine on the lawn was an experience. The owners go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable experience! Close enough to town to take a quick cab ride. Amazing breakfast! Amazing dinner recommendations. We will be back!

We enjoyed staying five nights in the Floral room at the Old Station about three miles outside of St Andrews. This was our first visit to Scotland as our niece was graduating from St Andrew's University. Our room was upstairs, faced the rear of the property and had a window that we opened for air. It was a smallish room... More

Stayed here for 2nights - visiting for a friend's wedding in St Andrews. Lovely quirky guesthouse - we stayed in one of the railway carriages. The carriage was converted to a high standard asn was very comfortable. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The cooked breakfast was superb. Taxi under 10 minutes to St Andrews (£10ish). Throughly enjoyed our stay... More

We stayed at this hotel due to its quirky Carriage instead of any old hotel in St Andrews . We arrived and were greeted by friendly host Fiona who showed us to our Carriage suite. It was so cute - a real unique place to stay. You could tell it was old old carriage but I loved that fact -... More

Sorry for the late review. We stayed at the Old Station at the end of April as a gift from good friends. We were warmly welcomed by Fiona who showed us to our accommodation, the African room. The room looked lovely and most welcoming. Within minutes, Fiona returned and asked if we would like to move down to the Garden... More
