What a superb location. When matched with the excellent cuisine this gave us just the relaxing break we wanted. Gavin and his staff run an excellent hotel and we couldn't believe the value for money. We were upgraded to a four-poster suite with all amenities and a sitting area overlooking the golf course and the Firth of Forth. We will... more
I am a local to the Old Manor, and eat in The Coachmans Bistro fairly regularly. Also, I am getting married in August and the wedding reception will be held at the Old Manor. Swallow hotels did mess up this hotel, but it is steadily improving, and i believe before long it will as good as ever! The staff that... more
Swallow Old Manor Hotel, Lundin Links, Fife Scotland Hotel is quaint, and has some good views, professional staff. Rooms are grossly overpriced and priced per person. Breakfast is included , however, the restaurant does not open before 7 am , with no alternative. Lastly, the en suite rooms which offer tub and showers have no water pressure. Having traveled to... more
Have stayed often but always in original part - up stairs & most front rooms have nice balconies now, Last visit had to stay in East Extension ground floor (due to booking '[---]up') - avoid at all cost as upstairs floors 'creek' & nocturnal wanderings above does not pertain to a good nights sleep! Maybe if you are upstairs its... more
Before being "Swallowed", the hotel management and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The offerings from the Aithernie restaurant were superb( I think the chef was Alan Blunt) although the atmosphere was a little "stuffy". Despite this, we stayed here on a number of occasions and so when we needed to return to Scotland, chose this hotel. After a gap... more
Booked a two night stay in July 2005. Had just been Swallowed. Not informed of this when we made the booking. On first appearances the public areas elegantly furnished and spotlessly clean. Personable receptionist but no other guests! This made us feel uneasy from the start. The main restaurant was closed and the bistro had a very limited choice, certainly... more
A warm welcome made up for the very cold and miserable night we arrived! We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed excellent service throughout....nothing was a problem. This is a nicely appointed hotel with cosy comfy rooms....the view over the golf links and Forth to East Lothian is fabulous on a clear day. Warm and pleasant lounge areas complement the excellent... more
Stayed here for a business dinner & overnight stay. The room was superb - could have happily held a whole group - with a stunning view over the links & river. The meal likewise was excellent, the salmon-stuffed sirloin being highly recommended, as were the desserts & the cheese. Make sure you leave room for breakfast. Has quite recently changed... more
This inn is fantastic. Rooms are huge and well appointed. We had a seaward view and it was gorgeous. Staff was great and dining and lounge area face the ocean. Definitely stay here if you're in the area. more
