I've just returned from a couple of nights in the hotel and can find nothing negative to say at all. Ok, the decor and surroundings are a bit dated but I liked that about the hotel. It gave it an aura of class and homeliness. The rooms were very clean and well finished. he bed was very comfy as were... More

We have just left the strathearn hotel after booking afternoon tea for my mothers birthday. Afternoon tea is not a service they offer at the strathearn, although this is what I booked the waitress informed me that this was obviously my mistake, I accepted this and we decided to opt for the high tea offered instead. The first slice of... More

I've never written a review before but after reading what other people have submitted I felt compelled to offer a different view point to the streathern. The hotel has new owners. They took it on knowing it had many issues to be resolved. Some changes have already happened ie: a new head chef and kitchen staff. Chamber maid's who sing away... More

Our family visited the Strathearn for a spur of the moment mid week High Tea- The service from Kelly was superb and she was very attentive. The main meals were delicious with home made chips. but the home baking was the highlight - home made cherry scones, meringues and tray bakes- all scrumptious.- well worth a visit.

Lunched today, steak pie with tough meat, ham and egg with chips was dreadful. Ham was dry and chips soggy. Third meal the curry was ok but devoid of taste and primarily full of tomatoes but a chicken may have run through it. Waitress never asked how meal was ,which was probably just as well. She was very dour. There... More

And the answer to that is pay attention to detail. But to start on a positive note. There are the best ever towels I have ever had in a hotel, huge and fluffy. The bed linens were spotless and seemed to have been good quality and the bed comfortable. Although the pillows not to my taste. There are free toiletries... More

Despite organising for a wedding my friend and I had a great afternoon tea, lots of sandwiches and cakes to choose from. The food was fresh and at an affordable price. Friendly staff, who were attentive to us although they were busy. I will be back!

I arranged a night out for a group of friends at the Strathearn Hotel. The food was cold, the staff were disinterested in serving the customers and stood around chatting. The management were rude when we politely complained. I would strongly advise staying clear of this hotel who are now marketing themselves for weddings. You will be disappointed.
