We had a very happy and smooth running party for our son's 18th at the Strathearn on Saturday. Kirsty, the manager, was incredibly helpful, doing her utmost to accomodate us. The party itself went like a dream. The staff were great in dealing with the few inevitible minor issues that arise when you get teenagers together. Some of our friends... More

The hotel is just a bit tired: there are unfilled holes in the room and bathroom where fixtures have been removed. The carpet was very stained (though probably clean) and everything was just a bit urgh. But, breakfast was really good and the staff were very very friendly and welcoming.

I would like to say that the staff that served the meal were very attentive, not at all like the proprietors. My aunt and uncle booked this venue for their golden wedding party. There were well over 100 guests and at least 25 of us stayed there. When they booked the venue they were told that we could bring our... More

Stayed here for 5 nights Could be great, but isn't! Crap and rubbish in a corner of the car park Reception area reeks of old chip fat! Although no laundry service was offered, as a favour they washed our clothes, which came back stinking worse than before they were washed. Room was dated, and en suite grubby and in need... More

Two words that can make or break a business ! Current owners - where are they when it gets busy - hiding somewhere ! It would be very nice to see you in the front and serving your clientele ! Customers are the ones that can make you famous or a pauper ! Your staff are only born with 2... More

My husband and I managed to get two Kingdom FM vouchers which are bought for £25 and can be used as £50 towards a meal. We visited after an advert appeared in the Fife Free Press advising that the hotel had been taken over my new owners. We decided to give it a try and arrived at around 1.40 p.m.... More

My brother and our respective wives went for a meal on 8 June 2014. Having read the reviews I have to agree with some of them. The Hotel is a bit tired. The staff, although friendly do not appear very professional, the waitress sitting on a spare seat at the table to take our order. She then proceeded to talk... More

Arrived at hotel to find staff sitting outside smoking at entrance. Low members of serving staff, food cold, no wine list. Table was dirty upon arrival. The whole experience from start to finish was terrible. Will not be back EVER!!!

7 of us for high tea - 7 happy customers!! Service was a bit chaotic/slap dash - but was very quick! Battered Fish, macaroni and the Steak Pie were very good. Veg was fresh, portions were just right, the cakes were (mostly) homemade and the homemade scones were crispy on the outside and very soft on the inside. Large pot... More

Despite all the negative reviews we had dinner twice here last week and were very happy with the food and service. It was a different waiter each time but both were pleasant and efficient. The menu choice is good and in addition there were a few main course specials. Portion sizes are average and the prices reasonable. We particularly enjoyed... More
