Having had our wedding reception here at the Dunnikier House hotel in Kirkcaldy just a couple of weeks ago, I am saddened to say that our choice of having the reception here was regrettably a big mistake. During the run up to the day, we were filled with lots of confidence by the hotel manager/wedding co-ordinator Lynne Symmers, and reassured... More

Only went for evening meal on spec. Previously very good. No welcome in restaurant/bar area, sat down as nobody about. Asked for menus to be told ask at the bar! Ordered drinks at bar. Main course said pasta choices with vegetarian option but waitress said there was no choice for vegetarians. Luckily a senior person passing advised that the chef... More

Booked for 21st meal for 4 people, waited a long time for order to be taken. First option for,one guest was 'off' alternative chosen. Garlic bread ordered as a side dish, 3 slices arrived for 4 people. Prawns in spicy tomato sauce looked like anaemic warm prawns in tomato water. Vegetarian main course was 'off' asked to choose alternative, asked... More

On arrival there was a youth (girl) wearing a hoodie in the reception. Not very professional !. I think she might have been a friend of one of the staff but she was appearing to be the receptionist. Tacky !. The hotel is very run down and in urgent need of the `Hotel Inspector` visiting it to try and help... More

The food was well prepared and served to please. The service was a good match for any other establishment I have visited recently. On arrival we were well treated by all members of staff who very courteous. I will return again soon.

Sunday 25th May there was a Fete held within the grounds of Dunnikier House Hotel Kirkcaldy...which was very busy and successful . One of the lounges was open to the Public who enjoyed refreshments on sale. I asked the barmaid for two coffees and some soft drinks...to my unbelievable amazement the barmaid said,"We have plenty coffee but nothing to put... More

Myself and a college stayed here on a night we couldn’t get a room in our preferred B&B. We arrived very late and were let in by a very pleasant chap who despite seemingly having lots of jobs to do made time for us and made us welcome He even offered to carry my bags up to the top floor... More

Dunnikier Hotel has always had a reputation for being a bit posh, just for golfy types etc, so after moving to Dunnikier Estate last October, that's maybe why we'd put off going there until now. Please note that we have never stayed in the hotel but have used the restaurant and bar facilities on several occasions now. The bar is... More

stayed for one night to visit family. The room had a lovely view but I'm afraid the room itself was in need of some TLC. One of the lights above the bed wasn't working nor was the shaver strip light in the bathroom. When we returned to the hotel that evening the room was freezing. There was no heating in the room... I stayed for one night on business. The location is good and the building is in a very pleasant setting. The public rooms have a nice atmosphere and are well-maintained. The staff were all extremely welcoming and the service was excellent and this made up a great deal for the accommodation which could be charitably described as 'threadbare'. I had... More
