I stayed for a wknd with my partner to visit family. We only needed a bed as we had a busy weekend ahead. The room was great. A bit dated but Clean, fresh just what we needed. We had a drink in the bar and were made very welcome by staff and customers. So we ended up staying longer than... More

I have stayed in countless hotels and b&bs whilst travelling with work so really am not fussed as long as the place is clean. Well, where do I start, had a twin room for the night with a friend for a night out. Arrived to the room in which the door handle was hanging off and a digilock on the... More

The hotel at night was quiet so did get a good nights sleep which is what we pay for, the bar staff at the hotel were... More

We have just had three lovely meals at the newly redecorated Abbey, all were well presented and tasted as good as they looked. On our visit they did not have sparkleing water, so we had diet coke which came in small 200 ml bottles, not the usual 330 ml cans and were bad value at £1.30 a bottle. This was our... More

We had booked for our family to have a relaxing stress free meal. WRONG..... When we arrived the high chairs that we had booked were not available. We were told by the waitress that she would "sort it" but in fact did nothing. Having my 3 young grandchildren sitting on our laps was becoming increasingly difficult. We did get 2... More

We stayed at The Abbey for one night and attended the monthly 'Rock Club' that was hosted there that night. The room we were allocated was a very spacious double room with en-suite bathroom and shower. The room was very tastefully decorated, clean and there was plenty of cupboard space. In the room a hair-dryer, free-view tv/DVD combi, and tea/coffee... More

We were referred to this hotel at the last minute after our original hotel booking fell through, so not our first choice. However, having said that, the staff were more than helpful when we turned up at 8pm on a Saturday night. We had 2 double rooms, both adequately roomy and well furnished. Ensuite bathrooms were clean and tidy but... More
