Myself and my girlfriend stayed at this hotel because we struggled to find a value for money hotel in St Andrews and the plan was to make our brief trip as inexpensive as we could. We were travelling up from Newcastle at short notice and decided this would be fine as our one night stop-over. It turned out to be... more

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was better than expected with a wide range of cereals as well as having croissants. The place was clean, with good sized rooms and bathroom. The only slightly bad thing about the place was that we had a room on the second floor, and there was no elevator, only stairs. more

When visiting Glenrothes in the past I have gone for the Travelodge or the Travel Inn (now Premier Inn). At the time of this stay, I was pleased to see that the price differential has closed. Factor in the complimentary continental breakfast and it was an easy choice to make. The HIE is a good compromise between full service and... more

We stayed at this hotel the night prior to an open day at St Andrews university but apparantly is very popular with golfers too. It is about 20 miles from St Andrews and has ample free parking. The area is on the business park ring road and there is a very nice pub next door for a good bar meal. The... more

I only stayed for one night, but was treated very well during my stay. I was greeted by a lovely girl that chekced me in efficiently and politely. I had a couple of requests that night that she was only too happy to deal with. I found the rooms to be of an excellent standard for the price. more

Stayed here for TITP last year, I've just gotten round to writing a review as I am looking to stay here again for this years festival. Perfect location in Glenrothes, about £30 for a taxi to Markinch where TITP is, which is fine with a couple sharing. 5 of us stayed, 3 in a family room and 2 in a... more

I thoroughy enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Despite being part of a huge chain, the staff gave my stay the personal touch; the reception staff are friendly and the housekeeping staff extremely helpful. The hotel is rather quaint, in an excellent location within Glenrothes, I was staying for a wedding and it was very close to the where I... more

Overall a decent hotel and pretty good value for money. Rooms are the standard modular Holiday Inn Express so no surprises. Check in staff reasonably helpful. You get what you pay for and this is a good reliable value for money hotel. Breakfast is included and is pretty fair. Stay here rather than paying a lot more for some hotel... more

Just want to say my partner and myself have stayed here a few times when on holiday in Scotland or just a weekend break. Have always found it clean, quiet and comfortable, its just a shame all the rooms are now non-smoking. Continental breakfast is included in the price & there is a really nice bar next door - 'The... more
