The wife and I booked a couple of nights at the Covenanter Hotel and found it to be basic and clean. The breakfast was a good size plateful but on the 2nd morning the sausages tasted off. We stayed for three nights at this warm and cosy Inn, our room was well equipped and overlooked the church and palace. The bar was small but warm and cosy and Martin cooked our breakfasts, gave us the weather forecast and served the drinks!
