We previously stayed at the Ben Cruachan in March 2009 and it was great...... well 4 years on and now with the new owner Jackie (since Feb 2013) it is still an excellent B & B. Jackie is a wonderful host, so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The room we had was so comfortable and had everything that... More

I absolutely loved this B&B and will definitely stay here when I am in Edinburgh again. I stayed in room 1 - which is a beautiful room and I loved the decor. There was definitely no noise from the road. Breakfast every morning was delicious - lovely Scottish salmon, and a nice healthy fruit platter on option too. Jackie made... More

I visited with my wife and our hotel experience went very well. Breakfast each morning was delicious. I got food poisoning (from an unaffiliated restaurant) while staying at the inn and Jackie, the owner, was kind enough to allow us a delayed checkout time so I could recover before leaving.

This was our first time in Edinburgh and I didn't want to stay in a big hotel. So HAPPY we found Jackie and the Ben Cruachan. We had room 3 and it has a great view of the garden, quiet and I loved waking up to the birds. You can't go wrong with this bed and breakfast. Easy walk to... More

I had stayed alone at Ben Cruachan before and loved it....this time I returned with my husband and it was every bit as wonderful. I really can't recommend it highly enough - everything, from Jackie's warm welcome to the tasteful, beautifully appointed rooms and the delicious and plentiful breakfasts was really superb. If you stay in Edinburgh, THIS is the... More

I love it when a place exceeds your expectations even when such expectations are high and this is exactly what happened... In every way! Ben Cruachan was recommended by a colleague as an ideal venue for a weekend break and it was the making of our stay. A warm welcome into the very comfortable, tastefully appointed guest house was afforded... More

This was the first time we have stayed in Edinburgh in a while, and we normally go to a hotel. We decided to try this little B&B which was recommended by a friend. And we were not disappointed. It is centrally located and an easy walk to Princess Street. The owner, Jackie was fantastic. She gave us a good scottish... More

We have just returned from a short stay in Edinburgh at this wonderful B and B. At first we were a little surprised as its situation was very unobtrusive with just a door onto the pavement, however as we entered it was like stepping into a beautiful period home with its chandelier and tiled floors. The welcome we received from... More

Jackie and Kim were wonderfully friendly. Between that and their wonderful breakfasts, staying there was a real treat. While the parlor was in the midst of being painted, it isn't as if one visits Edinburgh to sit in the parlor. While to an American, the beds were on the hard side, that was small issue, really. The location, a half-mile... More
