We have stayed with Sandra a number of occasions and a more pleasant and accommodating owner you'll be pushed to find. A mixture of good quality accommodation and a fine served Scottish breakfast sets the tourist up for the day. Situated on an arterial route into Edinburgh, buses are very accessible. Lothian buses could teach many a city how to... More

We stayed with Sandra and Rab after an Air BnB booking didn't live up to expectations. We needed somewhere fast, that accepted our two dogs and within the locality of Leith where we were booked to have a meal at Martin Wisharts restaurant. The Guesthouse was very clean, tidy and accommodating. Sandra was very helpful and made our stay very... More

Having stayed in a few areas in Edinburgh before finding this B&B several years ago I have to say this is the best as it's the one I come back to again and again for my annual trip to the Fringe. Sandra is a friendly and helpful hostess who cooks an excellent Scottish breakfast and the rooms are always spotless... More

We had driven up from Berwick-upon-Tweed on the August Bank Holiday, and found the Brae as we drove towards Edinburgh city. We got the last room by default as they'd had a cancellation.......what luck!!!! We got the family room, just amazing! Beautiful and so tastefully decorated. Spotless, warm and welcoming. The bathroom was faultless too, with plenty of towels, soap,... More

This was a perfect B&B for visiting Edinburgh. It is just a small walk through the park and you arrive in the city center. This enables you to enjoy all features of the city, but provides a quit environment for sleeping. The guestrooms were very lovely. We received a warm welcome and were spoiled at breakfast. The quality of this... More

Eine freundliche Begrüßung durch die Besitzerin. Wir hatte ein großes, helles Zimmer mit einem neuem, modernen Badezimmer - die Räume waren sehr sauber. Das typische "Scottish Breakfast" war sehr lecker. The hostess gave us a really warm welcome and she was also very friendly. We had a big, bright room with a modern very nice bathroom. Our room and the... More

Having done the Dundee event I booked in at " The Brae,119 Willowbrae Road, Edinburgh . Again after a meal I sat looking out of my room window on to the bowling green ,with a favourite author and red wine. I struck lucky ,there was a league match there that night and the players were in deadly earnest and it... More

We stayed here over the May Day bank holiday and had a brilliant weekend. Couldn’t recommend visiting Edinburgh enough! This was partly due to the hospitality we received at The Brae. It is just outside the city, in a quiet location but there is a bus stop right outside the B&B (£3.50 for all day ticket on all Lothian buses... More

We stayed at the Brae and found it very pleasant and good value. We were there to visit family in the locality but it is an easy bus ride into Edinburgh centre. The full scottish breakfast definitely sets you up for the day !
