Came with my husband for the last weekend of the fringe. Stayed for 2 nights. Within walking distance of Princes Street (approx 10-15 min walk). Overall fairly satisfied with the Castle Park Guest House ...... but let down a little by minor issues. Lovely greeting as we arrived, no hassle or messing about, monies paid and key handed to us,... ''+'' - nice location. we used buses only 2 or 3 times although the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. The gueshouse is located perfectly. - clean beds, cozy room - coffee, milk, sugar and cookies every day in the room - very pleasant spanish speaking girl in the eating area ''-'' - absolutely unfriendly owner that... The room was clean, cute, and most importantly, convenient to the city bus route. It was pretty basic but fit our needs well. Breakfast was good though a bit cramped. The owner had us park our car in his home driveway free of charge. We left our rental right there all three days we visited and took the bus; the... More

Although the place is clean, the man who runs this place is not very friendly at all. In fact, I found him to be anti-American. I would not recommend this place nor would I ever go back. Sadly, this kind of place makes me want to stay in a hotel. There is also no parking, no common room to sit... More

My friend and I -we are both teachers- stayed here for 3 nights this week. The owner Sal was most helpful with booking Grayline tours which by the way picked us up at this location, cooked a wonderful hot breakfast, and chose for us room #5. Upon entering the b and b it may seem not so plush with a... More

My sister & I stayed at Castle Park for Hogmanay (Dec. 30, 2013-Jan. 2, 2014). The guest house was located within walking distance of the city centre & there was also a bus stop right in front of it. The 3 person room was the only one available when we booked. It was spacious, comfortable & clean. The en suite... More

We were searching for a place that was conveniently located and within walking distance to city centre of Edinburgh....and this was just fine. The staff and owner were friendly and were accommodating. The breakfast you can choose from a continental or a cooked breakfast and was quite satisfying for us. If there was something you did not want or liked... More

We stayed a couple of nights recently and would never stay again. It was convenient enough for Edinburgh and we were on a budget, so were not expecting anything particularly wonderful. However, the entrance hall stank of the owner's fried fish, the carpets needed cleaning throughout, the bathroom was okay, but not spotless and breakfast was poor - overcooked eggs,... More
