Comfortable room with french doors leading to the garden, just as well as the room was very hot when we arrived. Very friendly owners. Great Scottish breakfast. A bit further away from where we thought it was and wee bit more expensive than I would normally pay.

Second time back pleasure to stay here only downfall this time was did not realise you could not get into garden unless your room had patio doors which a couple of the rooms have the weather was hot this weekend could have done with the patio doors or access to garden but never mind still first class bed and breakfast

Service was good, but wireless was really bad. We had room 5 and almost never got wifi. Had to go out into the hallway and even then, only one or maybe sometimes two bars. Being an internet reliant teen, this was a major downfall. Our room was a two twin bed room, the bathroom was just a walk in shower... More

I stayed for 2 nights. Breakfast was very tasty, both hosts were welcoming and helpful. Its a bit further out of the town than I had anticipated but there is a regular bus service which gets you into town pretty quickly. Tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. Would happily stay again.

Headed to Edinburgh last minute, due to some dodgy weather, and searched online for a reasonably priced location near enough the city to travel in a number of times a day but far enough away to be peaceful; we found the Laurels to offer all of this and more. We received a lovely welcome from the owners and fantastic service... More

This must have been our fourth or fifth annual visit to The Laurels Guest House. Initially found because it was near our destination, it is now always the place we book when we are staying on this side of Edinburgh. I really like the rooms, they are bright and have windows that look our over a small grassy courtyard. The... More

I normally stay at Smith's Guest House nearer the centre of town on my occasional trips to Edinburgh, but hotels in town are still very busy, so I booked here instead. It's quite a bit further from town, google maps said it would take an hour to walk back. But I needn't have worried as the bus is very good.... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Laurels Guest House. It is a lovely place located outside the city centre (about 15 minutes by bus) close to a bus stop. There are 3 buses that service the stops closest to the BnB and run frequently (longest wait of about 15 minutes). The disadvantage of this is that if you are traveling... More

Laurel's guest house was located several miles away from downtown Edinburgh. We went during the Tatoo and the Fringe Festival so it was good we were not staying downtown. The guesthouse was located conveniently to a major bus line that took us directly downtown. The room was clean but rather hard and cold. Hardwood floors--no rugs, rather hard bed, and... More
