Wonderful stay, great room. Everything was so nice. Perfect for visiting the city (not in centre town, but with bus stop nearby 3, 3A, 8, 29 will get you in town center in about 20 mins.). A very kind stay. Recommended

This was our first (and second) night in Scotland, and we were very happy with our room and the warm hospitality. Breakfast was great, and we loved looking out into the garden while we ate. (we also had a great view of the garden from our room) We would recommend The Laurels to anyone and would love to come back...

I had 4 nights at the Laurels Guest House in room number 1.
It is quiet as all the rooms are on the rear of the building and they are on ground level, similar to attached bungalows, It is so easy to move all suit cases to your room as there is a separate entrance door to the side of...

We recently had a one night stay at the Laurels and found it to be a lovely, friendly place to spend the night.
We were met on arrival by the owner who showed us to our room. The room was very clean and nicely furnished. Tea and coffee facilities were provided and the room had a TV and hairdryer and...

Really nice room, comfy bed, good shower, an extra heater if you get cold. Great service from a lovely owner. As well as staying up late to accommodate my travel arrangements she insisted I take some cereal bars and water when I slept through breakfast the next day. Excellent location if you have business at the hospital, and only a...

From our very first impression, Jill's bed and breakfast was nothing short of wonderful. Our room was spotless, the location was in a very safe place only minutes away from Newington and the University of Edinburgh by bus or taxi, and we were greeted with genuine kindness and hospitality. I really felt like Jill went out of her way to open...

Lovely guest house not far from Edinburgh centre. Great value for money which includes a very nice choice of breakfasts. Would stay again.
This was my second stay at The Laurels having spent one night here in 2010. This time my wife and I stayed for two nights in August 2011 during the Edinburgh Festival
Jill gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival after a long train journey and was very accommodating to any requests throughout our stay. the room was...

We stayed there in July 2011. Jewelry was stolen out of our room. After filing a police report we did get our jewelry back. Owners refuse to answer emails for information that would help police investigate!!! Would recommend from my experience to stay somewhere else.
We obviously have to respond to such a serious allegation. We totally and absolutely deny everything that is stated in this post, and hope that any potential guests will see past it to read the other reviews and make their own judgements. There has never been any theft in our establishment and anyone who has left belongings on our premises...

How nice it was to be met at the door after a long drive by a smiling and welcoming Jill! We loved our stay at The Laurels. Every morning we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast in a cosy sunroom. Our room had large windows looking out to the garden. It was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. Great value for...
