We had difficulty in finding a suitable GH in Edinburgh at this time of year due to the Tattoo and Festival but we did not regret finding this place although rather pricy at this time of year. It is in walking distance of the city if you don't mind a few hills. However, the bus stops are nearby and we... more

The Albyn Townhouse comes highly recommended. Lydie is a fantastic hostess. Very friendly and warm. The place itself is brilliantly located. Very peaceful and 'cut-off' yet close city center. We walked everywhere. Our room was very spacious, well kept and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and hot. I would stay there again without giving it a second thought. more

If we fell in love with Edinburgh it was also because of the great reception we had in this delightful B&B. Our host, Lidia, was helpful, efficient and witty, the room was spectacular, the breakfast delicious and served with a smile. The area was quiet but it was easy to reach the centre. We really hope to return one day! more

We stayed with Lydie for two nights (21st & 22nd July 2009) whilst we were travelling around Scotland for two weeks by motorbike. The welcome was wonderful, unlike many others we received. This place really is a treasure. Our room overlooked the courtyard, it was beautifully furnished adn imaculetely clean. Breakfast, like everything else here, was perfect. If we return... more

What a hidden gem - literally at the end of a cul de sac. :-) Of so many B&B we could choose, we happened upon Albyn Townhouse and had a great short stay while exploring the city of Edinburgh. Lydie, the owner, is a joy and made us feel right at home. The rooms are modest, but equipped with the... more

My husband and I, along with two friends, stayed in the family room and had a wonderful time. The B&B itself was very clean, charmingly decorated, had comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. Located at the end of a cul-de-sac we had no noise to wake us in the early morning and could easily get around as the B&B... more

A very comfortable and well-run establishment, located at the end of a cul-de-sac in a very quiet position. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable and the personal service of the owners, Lydie and David, is second-to-none. Breakfast is excellent and you can eat enough to keep you going until dinner time. Albyn Townhouse is located on a 15-minute walk... more

I can honestly say I see I have to agree wholeheartedly with Julie. The Albyn Townhouse is one of the most charming guesthouses I have stayed in. The rooms are decorated beautifully, and the bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept in! My boyfriend and I stayed at the Albyn in early November, and we were instantly impressed... more

Very confused by previous comments as we stayed on exactly the same weekend and would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful bed and breakfast. From our very first contact with Lydie when we booked our stay we have only ever received friendly, courteous and helpful assistance from her. The house is beautifully decorated and Lydie was there to welcome... more
