Arrive on a Friday evening, lovely welcome and given an overview of the house and area. We were tired after our drive and we were shown straight to our room! No 8, on the top floor was lovely and quiet, with a sneaky view of the castle for good measure! The King size room was brilliant and the bed was... More

A family run B&B that makes you feel at home. The owners are very nice and helpful and it was enjoyable to chat to Lydia. The location is in a quiet street. It is about 15 minutes walk from the train station and the old city center and it is possible to take a bus from the bus stop that... More

Locally owned and operated, this B&B has lots of homestyle, comfort and friendliness that makes you feel part of the family. Ok.....so there a stairs to negotiate to your room but wow....what a room! There are major hotels whose rooms pale compared to the Albyn. The room has all the necessities, plenty of space, free wifi, and a comfy bed.... More

We loved our stay here for so many reasons. First, prior to arriving, Lydia was sure to send useful directions to get us from the train station to the townhouse. Then, the staff was very friendly and helpful, even recommending what ended up being our favorite restaurant in Edinburgh. We stayed on the top floor of this charming place and... More

I spent four nights at the Albyn Town House with my 10 year old son. I chose it based on the excellent reviews I had read on line, and was not disappointed. Lydie and David the owners of Albyn Townhouse were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and made us feel very much at home, and were on hand to give help... More

Actually, this was our second visit to the Albyn House in Edinburgh. It's only a few minutes walk from the main street and bus routes. We drove there this time and used the convenient but limited parking (request a space in advance). We actually never used the car after our arrival. It's located on a very quiet street in a... More

Warm welcome from the owner lydie that gave us nice tips of what to see where to eat. Very lovely guesthouse, great breakfast (lydie snakes homemade jam, cake and compote) very clean and nicely furnished room. The only room tip if you want to oversleep (after 8.30 am) book a room NOT in front of the kids school.

Warm and welcoming arrival, room very clean. Within very easy walking distance to public transport into the heart of Edinburgh or a 20 minute walk. Breakfast was amazing. Well worth a stay if planning a trip to that area.

We stayed three nights here in September, and had a great visit. The hosts clearly know how to please their guests, and are energetic and cheerful. Our third floor room (#7) had a view of the Firth of Forth and the Edinburgh castle. It was roomy, clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was restaurant quality and delicious, with many choices made... More

We booked 2 nights and luckily extended to 3. Lydia and David were very helpful and gracious hosts and could not have been more helpful. Room was of good size and included a comfy lounge. Breakfasts were superb and staff are so friendly and caring. Our room was attended to each day which is nice to come home to after... More
