The main things I evaluate accommodation on are the basics: bed and shower. The beds were comfortable, but a little too short and narrow for us. I'm tall and my partner and I like to have a bit of space. The shower was annoying. It was on some sort of electrical system, and had virtually no pressure. Also, it was... More

Apartment itself was very nicely finished and furnished. However, we had no hot water and no tv. Also, after 6pm key collection is a bit of a drag. They could easily store keys on site and have a buzzer access to get you in to the building but instead you have a half mile traipse to a dark alleyway and... More

The apartment is well kept and has all the amenities needed. It is a 10 minute walk to the city centre so is in a brilliant location. Would definitely recommend!!! There is a secure car park opposite the apartment it is however very expensive at £16 for 24hrs

Extremely good value for money. Went there and it was easy to find, in a safe and secure complex of buildings. 24hr security. Extremely clean and modern apartment, fantastic cooking facilities. Wonderful modern bathroom and bedroom. Most comfortable bed I've slept in in a while!! Great walk in wardrobe - shame it didn't get used much as we only stayed... More

we stayed one night. £95. 2 bedrooms, kitchen, lounge, bathroom. Clean, quality decor very comfortable, not noisy, although our floors creaked when we walked around all rooms, so anyone under us on 2nd floor would get noise. Staff at reception in high street were friendly and direct. Downsides were inflexible check in times, [a £10 per hour charge is incurred... More

We only stayed for the one night between Christmas and New Year and were very pleased with our apartment. Apart from a couple of lightbulbs that were out, everything was in working order. Very well furnished and a very comfortable stay overall.

Stayed here as two couples for a Birthday long weekend from 11th Dec. A great time to visit Edinburgh, Winter wonderland and the Christmas festivities made this a magical treat. The apartments were easy to find, spacious and well equipped. The décor is modern, the beds extremely comfortable and the towels are soft and fluffy. Plenty of local amenities, shops,... More

We stayed in the apartments in West Nicholson Street for the last week of the Edinburgh Festival. The apartment was clean, spacious, very well equipped and tastefully decorated. West Nicholson Street can be a bit lively during the festival, but the bedrooms were at the back, so we didn't have any disturbance to our sleep. Location was good, around a... More

The apartment was very nice and modern. The water temperature in the shower fluctuated. The washer/dryer was extremely difficult to figure out, and there was no manual for it. Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighborhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighborhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
