We went as a couple and had a great time in Edinburgh using the Doris Crook B&B as or base. Doris and Ed are a lovely couple who are great to talk to as well as great hosts serving up a brilliant breakfast. The room we were in was on the first floor and despite the cold temperatures outside was... More

What a fantastic guest house this is...... Edward and Doris are two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet, they greet you like you were visiting your parents house to stay over.. we had room 2, a double bed on suite very spacious and comfortable, large window with a view onto the rear garden, we chose this... Fantastic B&B. Doris and Eddie make it a home from home. As hosts you cant ask for more and they really helped make our stay first class. Good breakfast to start the day and off road parking means you can leave the car an grab a bus (50 yards to bus stop and 15 mins to centre of Edinburgh). Plenty... More

Doris and Eddie are wonderful. Both are so engaging in conversation, sharing their opinions on current events and life...this is why we stay at B&B's. We meet wonderful people who are gracious hosts and we learn about them and their opinions, their loves, their passions. Regarding the premises - wonderful, clean, comfortable, quiet. Easy walk to the castle. Doris and... More

With off street parking in a quiet neighbourhood of Edinburgh, we found this B&B delightful. Our hosts were helpful and friendly. The B&B was located away from central Edinburgh, but was on a bus route. It was relaxing to leave our car here and visit Edinburgh without traffic hassles. The B&B was clean and nicely furnished. Very good value for... More

When you ring the buzzer of this delightful B&B a warm male voice gives you the welcome, it is Edward. You don't feel like in a hotel/B&B but in Doris ' home. The single room is well furnished, clean and well lighted. The bathroom is not ensuite but so huge! And breakfast...Doris cooks for guests everymorning a gorgeous english breakfast!... More

We have just stayed two nights at Doris' lovely B and B. Doris and Eddie go above and beyond what is required of them to ensure their guests are looked after. They are a lovely warm couple who have lots of helpful hints and tips about making the most of your time in Edinburgh. Our room was huge with a... More

We stayed 4 nights with the very welcoming Doris and Ed and had a great time. Breafast was excellent. Ideally located outside the city centre but still within easy and very quick reach. We would definetely go back and recommend.

Stayed here in October 2012; The B&B has only 3 rooms for rent: one facing the front, one facing the back and one facing a side. We stayed in the back room, which overlooked the backyard and onto the back of other homes. Our room was good size, with a separate bathroom. Our bed was comfortable and we slept soundly;... More
