My wife and I stayed for a night before flying out on holiday, ideal location for the Christmas markets and great views from the dining room overlooking the castle. The double room was comfortable and in a quiet location. The evening meal was good, but a limited choice perhaps this was because it being a Christmas menu, and the breakfast... More

Not at all what I was expecting from the name of the establishment or where it was situated. The biggest compliments go to the Reception Staff and the Manager of the breakfast area. For them nothing was too much trouble and they were very professional and helpful. The rooms were shoddy and very tired looking (toilet brush with no handle,... More

I stayed for a night on business. Only needing a single room, I was offered an excellent room rate especially for such a superb location on Princes St. I arrived and departed by train and was able to stroll the short distance to and from Waverley Stn. After a rather indifferent welcome from one receptionist, it all looked up from... More

This hotel was recommended by a member and proved ideal for an overnight stay following a late-finishing function. Room was comfortable, bathroom clean and modern. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of cooked options supplementing the cold buffet, served by cheerful and helpful local staff. This hotel is competing with the many bland cheap and cheerful international chains by... More

Stayed here for 2 nights, bedroom overlooking the castle and it was spot on. The staff were so knowledgable and helpful with suggestions on where to go, what to see, where to eat and get special discounts which helped us to spend 3 days at a very reasonable cost. Nothing was too much trouble and contrary to one of the... More

Stayed for a couple of nights and couldn't have picked a more perfect location for shops and sight seeing. The receptionist, Lena, couldn't have been more helpful or knowledgeable about the area - thank you Lena! Rooms were clean and functional and the restaurant and bar have wonderful views of the castle. Would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location on Princes Street right opposite the castle. Room was smallish but more than adequate and very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Michael at breakfast who gave us lots of info about places to visit.....the breakfast was excellent too! Would recommend for quality and value for money.

Upon arrival a snobby nosed receptionist "living social" mmmm. She proceeds to give us minimal information gives us key. Thats it. I had to extract further basic information from her. Hiked the three floors to the room as no knowledge of lift. Room adequate. Beds twin together small uncomfortable and if you have a back problem it will make it... More

We stayed in this hotel as part of a living social deal. Our room was at the top of the hotel ( round windows ) which did worry us as we started to make our way up. However there was no need to worry. We had an excellent, in fact fabulous, view of the castle from the bedroom and bathroom.... More
