Stayed here for 2 nights on a trip around UK, and must say was very impressed with this hotel. The rooms were top-notch for the price you pay, seems to have been very well renovated with the rooms big, bathroom acceptable (slightly small), only complaint was double beed seemed to be 2 singles pushed together. Loved this hotel. Having had to leave the ghastly minto guest house(4 doors down), we were delighted with the service and frienliness of the staff. The room was vrey stylish, clean and modern. Great location too. Really comfy beds and great bathroom. Breakfast was ok... Bar is really relaxed and a great welcoming atmosphere, Good value too. more

I have just returned from a weekend at the Minto. My wife and I had a family room with our 2 year old, and we also took 3 further double rooms for family, with my elderly parents in one of these. I just stayed in this hotel with 2 friends-we shared a room with 3 beds having booked 3 months ago online we didn't quite know what to expect but, upon arrival we were delighted. We were in Edinburgh for an ocassion , but not the hotel & had to stay overnight. When booking asked if we could get in room earlier, they were obliging. The room was tiny, our window backed onto a wedding reception area so we had to keep the curtain closed, the beds were terribly hard and uncomfortable. The service was generally poor. The restaurant was not great (but relatively cheap). This hotel is in a useful spot for travelling into town. more
