It's a very good situated hotel in a popular but peaceful place. The accomodation was clean and net, unfortunately there was no free wifi, but I solved it :/ The staff was kind and helped me, offered maps and so on :)

I don't know where to start really.. We travel a lot and our expectations are not incredibly high. Reception/staff: careless, not helpful at all, not aware of good customer service. We didn't have a cot what we requested a month ago, we got a room next to young party animals, and we had to use awkward stairs to get in... More

We arrived earlier than the check-in time. We called the hotel and everything was OK. Our room, though small, was clean. Unfortunately there was no breakfast and WiFi was not included in the price. But for only one night, that was not very important for us.

I usually go to conferences sponsored by various bodies and get really good rooms. On this occasion tho', I was indecisive to go or not so ended up having to book the accomodation myself. I stayed at the Adelphi. The hotel is old, the rooms are old, the toilets have to be shared. Room no.2 have poor sound proofing (... More

Sure, the price isn't that bad, but the hotel is really dated and quite dirty in places. I would also not eat there even if it was free. The bathrooms smell (I couldn't find an extractor fan or window, so the place will inevitably be mouldy). Finally, I met 3 members of staff during our stay and none of them... More

Really strange smell hits you as soon as you go in, room was crammed, terrible lighting, dirty sink and freezing, old and torn decor. Will never stay there again even if it was free and wouldn't dream of eating there.

I journeyed to Edinburgh on a Groupon Voucher bought for me as a present. As far as the Edinburgh experience goes this hotel was the complete opposite. Edinburgh is a wonderful, fresh friendly, well maintained city, seemlessly mixing the mediveval with the modern, tastefully and respectfully. The Adelphi Hotel on the other hand is a rundown tenement house stuck permanently... More

The “hotel” is an old georgian house where each room has been turned into a bedroom (cramming beds wherever they fit and using the term generously), with a shared toilet per floor, and one bathroom overall. Never have I seen a hotel where the guests have to queue to use the toilet or shower. Our particular room (No.2) was directly... More
