I have recently returned from spending two nights here with my husband and mother. What a brilliant place to stay! Zandra was so welcoming to us alland made us feel at home. The beautiful rooms contain collections of Scottish artefacts from Zandra's family and fit perfectly into her lovely reception rooms. The breakfast was delicious and the bedrooms very comfortable.We... More

Zandra Macpheson is a lovely lady, she made us feel very welcome. We stayed in the lairds room which, although in an Edinburgh town house, could have been in a castle in the north of Scotland. Excellent breakfast. Perfect central location. Rob Grant, More

Would have to agree with all the positive comments here. Sadly, I lost on the toss of a coin and ended up in the patio room, while my friend stayed in the Lairds! If you don't like this place you should stop traveling and stay at home. An ideal place to explore a magnificent city. Will definitely stay again More

If you want to stay in a beautiful georgian home in a good location then look no further. It's a ten minute walk from Princes Street. The Laird's room with four poster bed more than lived up to my expectations. It is a fascinating house filled with wonderful portraits and antiques. The lavish breakfast is served in an atmospheric dining... More

Le creme de la creme. I stayed for 10 days in the twin room which has its own entrance which gave me the freedom to come and go as I pleased. The ancestral heritage is in full splendour and is a feast to the eye. Zandra is attentive, considerate and charming with a wealth of local knowledge can guide you... More

Edinburgh is my favourite destination for a weekend break and on my last 2 trips (Nov 08 and July 09) I have stayed at Number 21 India St. It's a wonderful base for a stay in Edinburgh, ideally located in the New Town, with the benefit of quiet surroundings but within walking distance of Princes St. Zandra will do all... Found 21 India Street on aboutscotland.com while planning our trip to Edinburgh for a wedding. We arrived starving hungry and our host Zandra Macpherson could not have been more kind and immediately made us sandwiches! We stayed in the Laird's bedroom which has the most romantic antique bed and overlooked a pretty garden. And the bathroom was a treat with... More

We stayed in the Patio room with the twin beds and were very cosy. Great location and was a great jumping off point to walk the whole of Edinburgh on the Saturday and handy with it's own front door. Superb breakfast! Zandra was charming and fascinating but at the same time modest and unnassuming. Highly Recommended! More

Our stay was an experience of a lifetime. Apart from a very convenient location in a very nice neighborhood, the outstanding experience was the warmth and personality of Sandra MacPherson who really made us feel at home. The connection to a genuine and facinating story of Scottish life and history is direct and personal. It must also be emphasized that... More
