This is by far the best value for lodging in Edinburgh. Value aside, there is nothing that Sheila and Bob and their staff could do to make their guests feel more at home. A short and beautiful walk to Princes Street and Waverly Station (15-20 min), the Galloway GH is clean and well decorated. The rooms are a good size.... More

Located about 15-20 min away from the waverley station. Just after dean bridge. Spotless, warm and comfortable place. Great breakfast, very friendly people. Room size was reasonable and their shared bathroom was very clean. If I visit Edinburgh again, I'll come back to the galloway guest house.

It is a little far off the beaten path, but across from a lovely park. It makes you feel like you are staying with friends, rather than in the heart of tourist Edinburgh. You can walk or take local buses. The rooms are small, but clean. We had a room with the shared bathroom, but the place is spotless, so... More
