We stayed with Ann and Mike in May 2015 and could not fault the quality of our welcome and accommodation! The house is beautiful, elegantly furnished, with original art and flowers in the rooms. The weather was cool but the bedroom was toasty warm and the lights were switched on to welcome us each evening. The breakfasts were superb with... More

A beautiful town house. Our room had a view over the greenery of the back garden. The whole house is very stylishly decorated, with art and carefully considered colours. It's not fancy, just elegant. Anne and Mike made us very welcome, and accommodated our bicycles in their garage. We woke up to birdsong from the garden. The breakfasts were superb:... More

I recently returned from nearly 2 weeks at Tantallon. It was a delightful place to relax and rest up for touring Edinburgh, which I mostly did on foot. The B&B is just a 10-15 minute walk from the center of the city and also from Holyrood Park, a wonderful maze of paths that include ascents to Arthur's Seat. I also... More

We have just returned from a 3-night stay at Tantallon Place for my birthday in February. The break was booked as a surprise by my husband although I had spotted the B&B featured a few years ago in the Guardian Travel supplement. What a lovely place and superb hosts. Mike picked us up from the train station so we had... More

Spent two nights here in August 2014, Mike and Ann were fabulous hosts and really knowledgable in everything that they spoke about. They opened up there home and made us feel like family. Breakfast was lovely and the fruit to start was a delight, not to mention the homemade jams/marmalades. If I had a slight negative, it would be. Please... More

We have just spent 6 nights at this wonderful B. & B. What a great find. We were able to leave our car in the drive as it was only a leisurely 10 minute walk to the city centre which is a great bonus. Our hosts Mike and Ann could not have done more for us and were always on... More

Cannot fault this place. From picking us up from Waverley to the end of our stay, Mike and Ann looked after us like VIPs, and couldn't do more to help us in every way. The house is a large detached house in the Sciennes/Marchmont area south of the Meadows; very quiet and beautiful. The house itself is gorgeously furnished, cosy,... More

Mike and Ann were superb hosts. You can tell they really love their city! They were very knowledgeable and helpful. The location is perfect because it is close to the city center but far enough away that it wasn't too loud/crazy. Our room was quite large, with a sitting area. Mike's landscaping makes for a wonderful view from the window.... More

Ann and Mike make you feel like the long lost relative as soon as you enter their house. You couldn't ask for more gracious hosts. The room we had facing the street was large and well appointed and when the sun came in through the window in the morning it was a wonderful place to wake up in. Although we... More

I stayed at Ann and Mike's a few years ago with my girlfriend and we both keep wonderful memories of this phenomenal B&B - warm welcome, fantastic homemade breakfast, beatiful and spotless rooms and great location. We look forward to return with our child soon. Valentina and Pietro
