Pillars House is a great little B&B. From checkin to check out was a pleasure. Mark whit his gift of the gob had us laughing and enjoying his knowledge of Scottish history and customs was a pleasure. Mark is an excelent cook and breakfast was a very serious treat. About 50m walk to the next bus stop that takes you... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Pillars House whilst visiting family in a nearby apartment. We were made most welcome by Mark, the manager / owner and were well looked after and entertained during our stay over Christmas. The room was modern and clean with a new bathroom, small but beautifully fitted. the breakfast was excellent... More

It was now our second time together in Edinburgh and I would never go elsewhere. We really enjoyed the family atmosphere and the very friendly way of Marc. There´s no help you wouldn´t be given from them and you can feel that they really enjoy what they do for their guests. The breakfast alone is worth staying there and it´s... More

I have stayed here twice on way to the North of Scotland, and cannot fault the B and B. The rooms are clean, breakfasts in the owners kitchen great, you met and talk with other travellers, and the Owner cannot help you enough with directions. etc. I just wish I could visit more often. A very under rated B and... More

I Love this Guest House they make you feel at home I visited 7th and 8th of November The room had everything a weary traveller needs. Breakfast is not to be missed as they generousley provide a substantial breakfast with all the little luxuries. Its a wee treasure .PJ More

Just stayed at Pillars for 2 nights with a group of friends and all of them cannot speak highly enough about the hosts!! From the moment we got there, when Edna immediately offered us tea and toast, to the moment we left we were looked after like royalty. Mark even went down to his local and told them we were... More

A big old creaky building, but well heated. A motel/hotel would normally be cleaner, tidier and better furnished. The steps and lack of a lift could be an issue for older visitors. What this place lacks in looks, compensates generously in charm. The proprietors were friendly and helpful. More

Stayed at Pillars for 2 nights in early September 2011. Had great food and breakfast conversations with Italians, Germans and Aussies. Edna and Mark were fun and put on a big spread with lots of options including haggis. Don't pass on the haggis as this was the only B&B in Scotland we were offered it. The room safe, fridge, and... My husband and I recently stayed for the third time at Pillars House and would like to say thank you to Edna, Mark and Forbes for a great stay. Pillars is just 5-10 minutes by bus to Princes Street , also about the same to Ocean Terminal and the Royal Yacht Brittania. Tesco and Lidl supermakets are very close for... More
