The perfect campsite for a city escape! We went for my birthday last year and camped for a couple of nights and then splashed out on a Wigwam for a few nights more. Without our car, we were worried about getting around but the bus stop with a direct bus to the city centre stops just outside so it was... More

If you thought it would be too cold to stay in a wigwam in Edinburgh at the end of October, think again. A great place to stay in where you can get the bus into the centre of Edingburgh. The wigwam had a kettle, microwave and fridge in but you need to take everything you would if you are camping.... More

Second visit to Mortonhall with family. A lovely countryside setting on the edge of the city. Stayed in the holiday homes, a very cost effective way when there is a large group. The caravans were very clean although think that more cleaning clothes and tea towels need to be provided. My sons ate at the Stable Bar twice and were... More

We booked for 3 nights at the last minute. Booking was easy and convenient, we were unable to do it online as we planned to go later that day. The staff were informative and helpful. On arrival we were directed to our very conveninet spot, we put our large tourer into our spot and took stock ouor our surroundings. We... More

As part of our road trip north this year we wanted to go to Edinburgh without the hassle of trying to park a motor home in the city. Morton hall is ideal, a lovely countryside setting and only a short bus ride away. The site is set in lovely countryside, is well organised, the showers and toilets spotless, enough room... More

This was the first time we had camped as a family and we were very impressed. Lovely campsite so close to Edinburgh, just off the by-pass but only 10 minutes a way from the Commonwealth Pool! Great walks all round the adjacent golf courses and woodlands with fantastic views of Edinburgh, the Castle, Arthur's Seat and the coastline. Tolietes and... More

Have stayed here twice during Edinburgh Festival times. There is an extra camping space at the far end of the site for festival goers. But it's not noisy or loud at all. The site is simply perfect. The showers are a 2 min walk from the camp-site and they are extremely clean and warm. The toilets are also very close... More

I've never been camping before so my other half booked us an electric hook-up plot for a night at Mortonhall for my first camping trip and I have to say, the site is absolutely beautiful. When we arrived to "check in" I was greeted by a bored and rather quiet member of staff which made my expectation drop severely however,... More

Stayed for the weekend in one of the 8 wigwams on the site, definately a must for anyone who loves camping but not the hassle of a tent or sleeping on the floor. Wigwam was clean, warm and comfortable. They have a small fridge, microwave, kettle and a tv inside and picnic table and BBQ area outside. Wigwams 1 to... More

We booked to come to the festival and came in our motorhome for 2 nights. We had a great pitch close to amenities and very handy for the on site breakfast wagon. Easy bus route into town and a spot to buy tickets at site entrance. Only downside is that I share the view that the toilet blocks! whilst OK... More
