This is not a hotel but a guest house/ B&B with limited resources. Although clean the whole place is badly in need of painting and maintenance. We were greeted on arrival by a person whose English was limited and hard to understand. The "en suite" was a corner taken off the room with Saniflo plumbing, which made quite a din... More

A bit of a mixed review for this stay. We payed quite a large sum of money for our room and honestly did not feel that it valued up to the amount that we payed. Ok welcoming in, but on first impressions it felt as though we were staying at a B+B and not a hotel. Sort of felt like... More

Great place, traditional new town house with original features. Friendly but unobtrusive hosts, good breakfast selection - hosted an early breakfast for us, as we wanted to get away early. Some of the decor was a bit tired but that's reflected in the value price! Would stay again. Thanks.

We had a really nice 4 night stay at the Hanover House Hotel during our visit in mid August 2014 for the Fringe. Jasmin is a lovely, helpful host who cooks a lovely breakfast. Our room (no. 2) was good, not massive, but big enough for us two, the bathroom was particularly small, shower only which wasn't great for my... More

We stayed for two nights in August to attend The Fringe. Hanover House is in a great location for getting around Edinburgh as it is very close to several bus routes and actually within walking distance of Waverley Station on Princes Street if you don't have heavy luggage. Jasmin was very welcoming and helpful getting our cases upstairs. Breakfast offered... More

I stayed here for 2 nights on 24th and 25th July. I really loved the peace and quiet after a noisy night spent in the Isle of Bute. The bed was so very comfortable and I slept well. The breakfasts were wholesome and Jasmine cooked whatever you wanted. Jasmine and her husband were vety helpful and friendly. Next time I... More

Jasmine was lovely and cooks a very good breakfast which sees us through till early evening. the hotel is clean, tidy and quiet. It is in a great location with quite a few attractions well... More

We can't agree with the many of the other reviewers! We had travelled a distance from Cornwall and were greeted by Jasmine who didn't even ask us where we were from or how our journey had been, quite odd for a guest house owner! The interior, despite being a hugely attractive house with terrific Georgian features, is quite tired and shabby and... More

A genuine family run hotel, incredibly friendly. Rooms very clean and breakfast cooked to order! Location is fantastic for the city centre, only a 10 minute stroll to Princes Street. Would definitely stay again.

Great room, the host was very friendly, and the breakfast in the morning was great. The hotel is in a great location, all attractions are within 30 minutes walk, and if the weather is good walking is a great way to see edinburgh. The room was relatively expensive, but i expected that given the fringe and tattoo were on.
