Our 4 night stay at The Ayden was perfect: our room was a nice size and incredibly quiet, with a beautifully comfortable bed and a nice en-suit; David and Anita were also the perfect hosts - and provided one of the nicest selection of breakfasts I have had anywhere (I seriously recommend the vegetarian Scottish breakfast, with haggis - beautiful!).... We stayed for 4 nights at the Ayden last month and couldn't have done better. Excellent value for money, wonderful, friendly atmosphere. Anita and David are great hosts, making everyone feel really at home. Our room was huge, modern, clean and well appointed. Breakfasts are good and tasty, great coffee. The fresh fruit topped with yoghurt was our favourite, inspite... More

My husband and i stayed here 1 night. The owner was extremely nice and helpful. The room was clean, cozy and nice sized. The price was quite reasonable. The breakfast was delicious with many options available for anyone. There was absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. I would highly recommend going there!

Good quiet location, great Scottish breakfast, friendly hostess, clean and tidy rooms great price for the area. 5/5. The hostess was able to take us in on very short notice without bookings and hold our luggage securely while we went touring Edinburgh. Very pleased with this place and I highly recommend going here if anyone is in the area!

We ended up here by accident having had a booking with The Conifers, but it turned out they were double-booked so they arranged for us to move along the road to the Ayden. I was initially disappointed as I had chosen the Conifers on the basis of excellent reviews. However, once we got settled in the Ayden we were perfectly... More

We stayed during the Fringe festival - booked our rooms at short notice, so didn't expect much. We were blown away at the friendliness of the welcome; both David and Anita are lovely people and fantastic hosts. They were very knowledgeable about their city and helped us plan our days activities - directed us to several excellent restaurants we wouldn't... More

We stayed for four nights in August during the Fringe Festival. Our two bedrooms on the top floor were private, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. We had everything we needed. The breakfast menu was extensive, delicious and arrived promptly at the time requested. A frequent bus service goes into town and conveniently stops outside the Ayden although it is as... More

I have spent time here before together with my daughter. They have changed owner since then but The Ayden Guest House still keep the same high standard as last time! My daughter and I stayed in the big family room. The room was clean and in very good shape. Anita and David make you feel welcome and are really nice... More

We stayed at The Ayden June/July 2013 and could not fault it. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the bed was luxuriously comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious. There is free on street parking (so unexpected being so close to Edinburgh city centre - around a 20 minute walk away). Lovely personal touches like the chocolate biscuits and also the wine... More

My partner and I stayed at the Ayden a couple of weeks ago for three nights, it was wonderful... We had a room at the back of the house with was lovely and quiet with great neutral decor and very modern, the house itself is beautiful, full of charm and yet modern too.. Anita and David, the owners are friendly... More
