Lovely hotel with very pretty furnishings. The bed is so comfy and the location is fantastic for shopping or if you want to see Edinburgh. The breakfast was amazing, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the restaurant is great. Overall a very good hotel

I booked the hotel to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. I was conscious other reviewers mentioned it was all pink and quite girly so we booked the black room which was beautiful and so luxurious. The room had everything you need and I was very impressed at wifi speed. Room was very quiet and hotel is situated far enough along... More

I booked this wonderful hotel as part of a honeymoon for me and my new wife. On arrival the staff couldnt have been more helpful or friendly. Definitely 5 star staff all round. We were upgraded to the black suite and words can not express the thanks for this. Room was fantastic. Food and drinks here are great. A must... More

Stayed at this hotel for 4 days in May. As requested, we had a lovely quiet room on the third floor. It was a large bedroom with great bathroom with a wet room taking over almost half of the room. Robes were provided along with good toiletries. We also had a bottle of water each day per person and fruit... More

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. Hotel was easy to find and helped to read reviews to find out exactly where reception was. When we arrived at reception I was informed the room I had booked wasn't available so we were upgraded to the suite for no additional cost. The room was beautifully decorated and proved to be... Absolutely fantastic - lovely friendly atmosphere and the Georgian Suite is a gorgeous room with wonderful facilities. Biggest bath and shower ever! Couldn't have been better! The staff made us feel very welcome and everything was of the highest quality. Even ghd straighteners and hairdryer provided in the room. Conveniently located for restaurants and shops too.

We stayed here as part of a hen weekend. We had a special 'Girl's Weekend' package and it could not have been better! Worth every penny. We got make up done at Harvey Nick's, breakfast in bed, meals (1 lunch & 1 dinner) and a few cocktails included, plus a movie night in a luxury room with ice cream &... More

Went on a very busy Easter Sunday afternoon. Great cocktails with some unusual choices. Friendly bar staff. Would definitely return to eat or for a longer stay at the hotel as rooms on the website look great

A very modern, lively Hotel right in the centre of town. Lots of pink & purple & pizazz! We were met at the door by a lovely, smiling hostess who greeted us warmly and escorted us into the Hotel. Checking in was quick and easy and again the ladies in reception were friendly and very welcoming. Surprised & delighted to... More

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
