First time in edinburgh and wanted to find somewhere nice. This place was perfect with a view of Arthur's seat. Really easy to find and just across from bus stop which was 10 minutes from town. Lovely breakfast, either cooked breakfast, cereal, fruit, all sorts. Really clean and comfortable room with an amazing shower!

After searching around for an affordable stay we stumbled upon Salisbury Green; which was very familiar to me because it was actually the halls of residence I stayed at whilst studying in Edinburgh. It has undergone a lot of renovation and is now a good hotel. Our room was massive and very clean with everything we needed. The staff were... More

After staying in a few cheaper hotels and B&Bs in our time so far in the UK, walking into this grand old building was a flooring experience. The rooms are massive, as is the bathroom, with a comfortable bed and space to lounge around if you need some down time. Close to public transport (and realistically not far to walk... More

Beautiful old stately home with many of its originality still in place. We had a beautiful room, and the cleanliness was top quality. The old town of Edinburgh (Royal Mile area) was within walking distance (approx 30 mins) and a good way of walking off the excellent breakfast! Buffet style for cereals, fruit, pastries etc and waitress service for a... More

Wonderful stay, room was a good size, clean, well equipped, modern and warm. We had the most wonderful filling breakfast each morning, which saw us through to our evening meal. Most noticeable of all the positive comments I could make is the friendliness of every single member of staff we met! What a credit to the employer! Would definitely stay... More

We had kind of mixed emotions about this one. The hotel is beautiful architecture inside and out with many of the original features still intact. This is why I picked it I think, and I wasn't really disappointed even though we didn't get a particularly interesting room. First, everything was immaculately clean. I have never seen a cleaner hotel even... More

Easy to find Hotel with convenient parking. We were initially disappointed with the room as it didn't have a bath which we were expecting but the receptionist very quickly found us another room which was very comfortable and pleasant. We were advised by staff that Edinburgh Centre was '15 minutes walk away' but it actually took 45 minutes and was,... More

A lovely gothic style hotel, owned and run by Edinburgh university. As always a pleasure to stay. Well appointed room with massive bathroom. Excellent breakfast completes another great stay at this hotel. Staff were attentive and helpful.

We picked this as stayed before and good situation with parking. The room is comfortable, good bed, clean and good bath. Breakfast is good freshly cooked by friendly staff. Easy walk into town and bus stop outside. It is not really a hotel, as no other facilities although bar on campus and leaflet stating room service but didn't test it.... More

Stayed in this room for 2 nights at the start of the Edinburgh Tattoo. We were pleased we were able to park in the grounds as the performers at the Tattoo were also staying there and there were many buses and not a lot of parking available. The room was fine with everything needed but the shower was very slow... More
