Stayed at the Salisbury Green for 3 nights. Even though the building has many original features, rooms were modern and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of cold buffet and freshly cooked hot items. The staff were all friendly and helpfull. The fact that we had free parking in the hotel grounds was an added bonus. The hotel... More

Very good service for breakfast, odd place to check in but got there eventually. Very comfortable rooms, lovely shower. Overall very good hotel would visit again. Lovely decor in the hotel, no noise from outside and near to shops in local area.

Room perfectly adequate ... albeit the last room at the end of several twisty, turning corridors. The lack of a reception was a bit baffling at first ... the sign telling you that you need to go to the neighbouring building is on the door as you enter, but it's not something I was looking for, so I missed it!... We only spent one night at the Salisbury Green Hotel, and found the room to be very comfortable. The staff answered our many questions in a pleasant and helpful way. Driving a car can be challenging in Edinburgh, and they offered tips for navigating around the city in the least painful manner. Although the price was a bit higher than... More

Despite a decent location and a warm welcome from the staff we were not very happy with the quality of the service. We ended up in a small and noisy room with no toilet brush. Tasty breakfast but not worth the price. Luca

Until my neighbors moved in across the hall, I was delighted with this hotel. More on them in a moment. The pluses: nicely appointed rooms, big bathrooms with amenities like towel warmers and pants pressers, good breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, baked goods, and hot eggs and sausage or bacon or even haggis (I passed). The best part: I... More

A good comfortable hotel with all the basic facilities. Location of the hotel is excellent as all the important places of tourist interest like Royal Mile and Princes Street can be easily reached from here. The hotel evokes the old world charm, an old building has been very well preserved. Reception staff is courteous and helpful but the breakfast served... More

Pretty good - very quiet, nice breakfast. A struggle to figure out how to open the windows, but eventually I did. However, when trying to figure out how to check out on the last night I discovered the phone in my room was totally dead. No way to reach the main desk (unless I wanted to get dressed and walk... If you want a quiet hotel with a good breakfast, this is a good choice. We are an active retired couple and did not mind the 25/30 min walk through a pleasant park to the Old town. The bus stop opposite the hotel has a frequent service into Princes street. The hotel is a quirky old building with helpful young staff at... More

if you are visiting Edinburgh, don't be worried about being slightly out of town. This superb little hotel, lying within the university complex is a little gem!!! Not expensive to stay, fantastic breakfasts, and Taxi service into the city for next to nothing compared to other major British cities. (Just £6.00) AND, do not miss the opportunity to visit the...
