I travelled to Edinburgh with my partner and two friends, we booked two double rooms online through an agency and we were told we could check in at any point from 10am, we arrived at midday. A young member of staff greeted us and told us we had only booked one room but that she would give us the keys... more

This hotel was cheaper than others in the centre of town and for £70 we really did not expect luxury - or even thta it would be that nice to be honest. It was on a quiet street. It is very very dated with faded shabby bedding and wierd wallpaper that is older than me but it was clean. After... more

Awful, unfreindly and un-manned. Bed fit for the skip, with nasty stained blanket. No redeeming features. more

The people here are extremely friendly and accommodating. It may be a small room or it may be up a few floors, but the service and location were great. Clean and a very good Scottish breakfast. Would definitely stay there on a return trip. Great value during Fringe Festival. more

We 5 people ( 4 adults and one child) stayed at this small B&B for 2 nights during the end of July 2008, it is 15 minutes walk from the train station, very quiet street. We booked through their own website. a lady was waiting for us when we arrived around 9pm, we reserved a big family room, the room... more

This hotel was clean and comfortable, with a big breakfast, and a very nice price (compared to the others available). No lift (elevator), so if you have trouble carrying your luggage upstairs, you may want to request a room on the ground floor. more

I would avoid this "hotel" completely, the rooms are in serious need of updating. The bathroom was tiny, not very clean and the shower was just a trickle, bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was awful. The only good things were the location as there is a good bus service at the front and the staff were friendly. more

This hotel is just on the edge of the tourist maps of Edinburgh so the location is pretty good. The hotel was last decorated in the 1970s but it is clean and they provide guests with loads of information/tourist books about the city. Our room was small and the shower/toilet even smaller, but for £35 a night (per person in... more

We were greeted by very friendly staff at this small hotel. It's in a convenient location on Brunswick road about a 15 minute walk from the heart of town, but fortunately the street is nice and quiet. The room was adequate size and clean. However, the bed in the room was very uncomfortable- you could actually see all the dips... more

Edinburgh Brunswick Hotel is not reviewed widely on the internet and only has a very simple website, so it was hard to know what it would be like. We stayed there last weekend and it was a well-located, well-priced B&B. The rooms are very simple and certainly not up-to-date in terms of decor and the bathrooms are quite small, with... more
