I booked on the phone and gave credit card details. I asked about parking restrictions outside the hotel and what time meter parking finished - person did not know. I stayed one night, mid week in June. I arrived at exact time I said I would but front door was locked and no one answered door bell. Eventually I resorted... more

I would recommend the Dukes to anyone going to Edinburgh. The property is on a quiet street of elegant townhouses. I was immediately impressed by my room (the ground floor deluxe double). It was spacious, well appointed and had a sweet view of the owner's vegetable garden. No AC, but the window opened and we had a radiator for heat... more

For a hotel that's within 10 minutes or less of the main attractions Dukes of Windsor Street is a real haven of peace and quiet. The rooms we had were spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. more

We booked this B&B primarily for location. We were going to a concert at the Playhouse and its perfect for that - just 5 mins round the corner. The B&B itself is fine - its a 3 star establishment and thats what you get. The room was very clean but there is no aircon and, as the window didn't open... more

Dukes of Windsor Street was the perfect choice for Edinburgh. It is a lovely hotel. As others have mentioned, the rooms were well appointed and very clean, and the breakfast was truly excellent! I was so glad that I did not stay at one of the bigger hotels closer to the Royal Mile. While still being quite close to everything,... more

A return trip to our favourite city and our second stay at Dukes of Windsor Street. Great location with easy access to city centre and station. We were allowed to leave our bags from 07.30am. Lovely, comfortable room. Spotlessly clean. A very warm welcome from our hostess and the breakfasts are as good as ever. Will definitely go back again. more

I have recently returned from a 4-night stay at the Dukes of Windsor Street hotel and would wholeheartedly recommend it to future visitors. In summary: 1) Location: The hotel is in a great location, situated within a quiet street, yet only 5-10 mins walking distance from Waverley Train station and Princes Street. It provides an ideal base from which to... more

This B&B was one of the most memorable parts of my trip to Scotland. It was impeccable right down to the tiniest detail. It is scrupulously clean, the breakfasts were delicious, and the location is well within walking distance of everything. The owner Ros takes your choice to stay at her hotel very seriously and I would go back in... more

Stayed in Dukes while on a househunting trip to Edinburgh - partly because we were interested in buying one of the neighbouring houses and wanted to try 'living in it' before spending our money. We were surprised and impressed by the quality of the place. the breakfast was one of the nicest I've ever had in any hotel ( at... more

Dukes is a boutique b&b on a grand Georgian terrace about 10 minutes walk to Princes Street. The place is very opulent with meticulous attention to detail in the room design and presentation. We booked through the owners last minute and found the rate very reasonable for one night compared to the other quotes I had received. £120 for a... more
