Upon deciding to visit the city of Edinburgh for the first time, I searched for B&B in Edinburgh near the city centre.I was delighted to find this Kaimes Guest House with very friendly and helpful staff, and a nice, clean accommodation. I like the location of the House because the bus stop is just across the road and the area... more

This was the second year we stayed at the Kaimes for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which speaks for itself really. It is brilliantly located , a twenty minute , pleasant walk to Princess Street or on a bus route £1.20 into town. The bus runs til late so was excellent for getting back after late shows in town. The staff... more

Arriving late in the evening( due to a train delay)we stopped at the only place open Last Minute.com on Waverley station who recommended(?) this place. We were asked for 25.28 pounds( strange amount) as a deposit and given a voucher to present at the place. On arriving, the first thing we were asked for( before even an hello)was the voucher... more

This B+B is conveniently located, a 20-minute walk from Edimburgh town centre and there is also buses. Our room needed some help, with carpets peeling off, pipes sticking out and a leak in the shower. One of the matresses was decidedly uncomfortable. The staff was friendly but slightly confused. When checking in I asked whether they could provide a vegan... more

Friends and I stayed here in June 2008 for EIFF. The guest house was well situated for EIFF which is basically what we needed. We were given a very nice room looking out onto the garden with a large double bed and two single beds. The en suite was nice although the door was rather difficult to lock and open... more

The Room was adequate but the mattress needed to be replaced. The bathroom was built in the corner of an average size bedroom but was nice to have privacy. We were not in the room for much more than a shower and night sleep anyway. What made this guest house memorable was the staff. They went out of their way... more

Upon deciding to do the Edinburgh Moonwalk we google searched for B&B's in Edinburgh close to The Meadows - Kaimes Guest House seemed very reasonable - the inital price given over the telephone was £27 per person per night - as I did not receive any confirmation of this by letter I contacted Kaimes Guest House on numerous occasions only... more

A group of us stayed here to take part in the Moon Walk charity walk. The stay started badly when they tried to charge £10 each per night more than the price that they had agreed. The room was tired, the en-suite a cupboard with an ill-fitting sliding door; however at least the loo worked after we mended the flush.... more

The B+B was reasonably conveniently situated and the room was pleasant enough, but unfortunately we were given a room on the ground floor and it was INCREDIBLY noisy! The room was right next to the owner's kitchen/family room and and they just did not stop stop talking in very loud voices. We had to complain about this a number of... more

I stayed as a two week stopover before moving into student accommodations to start my masters in edinburgh. I was delighted to find the guesthouse much more than I thought I would have received for the reasonable rate. My mother and I were treated with such care and attention by the friendly staff and the owners and other staff were... more
