My sister and I just returned from an 11 day tour of the UK. The last 3 nights were spent at the Averon Guest House, accompanied by my grandson. The B&B is within a reasonable walking distance to the Castle and other sites. The staff and owner were very friendly and very accommodating. They kindly supplied a 3rd bed for... More

Good location. Short walk to Central Edinburgh. Enjoyed with the music by the owner of the hotel in the night. Staff was friendly & helpful. It seems to be a old fashioned place. Need more attractive interior design. Too expensive for the facilities. But last minute booking & can't complain.

We stayed three nights at Averon house, fantastic location - all downtown activities on walking distance - great breakfast. For us coming from the country of large and plenty (USA) we were advised, this is a historic house - so we enjoyed it, even as everything is a 'pretty tight fit'. Will come back again, if our future plans permit... More

Not bad but not flash either. Needs to be up dated sooner rather than later. Beds very old, tiny TV and stale smell. If it's just a place to sleep in then this is it, not a huge cost and fairly central. Great friendly staff which help a lot!

Tired and dated. Good location for central Edinburgh. Staff friendly but breakfast sadly lacking not only in choice but execution. Bacon sausage and hard fried eggs anaemic toast no other traditional Scottish fare on offer

The Averon Guest House is ideally situated with a car park, quiet and just a 5-10 minute walk from the castle and centre of Edinburgh. The room was clean and comfortable with helpful staff. We stayed for 3 nights and were made to feel very welcome. We would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation.

This is the second time I have stayed at Averon Guest House. The stay on both occasions was very good. The first time I stayed was due to the fact that the place had a car park and it was the closest place to Edinburgh Castle that offered a car park, I couldn't find cheaper with a car park closer... We stayed one night at Averon Guest House. All I can say is: Perfect! The owner is an extremely helpful and lovely person. He gave a photo and song presentation of some of Scotland's most beautiful places in the evening, gorgeous! It is only about 5-10 minutes to walk into the city. The room was beautiful and clean. Service was great.... More
