While visiting Edinburgh in July we were treated to slides and songs by the owner. Good quality slides accompanied by Scottish songs with good guitarist and fine singer. Good location with a warm welcome. Breakfast was very good. Walk to castle and Royal Mile about 10 minutes. Would stay there again. A little expensive but had parking and location.

Very friendly staff, dressed in traditional Scottish clothing. We had a very nice breakfast although there was no yoghurt. Very good location close to the centre of Edinburgh and good off street parking available. We particularly liked the way the owner is very proud of his 18th century building and likened it to both the Govenor's houses at both Stirling... More

We stayed in the annex next door so did not see rooms in the main house, but ours was quite comfortable. The staff was helpful with answers to our questions, and having a hearty breakfast served by waiters in kilts was delightful. Mr. Cran's evening of music and pictures of Scotland was a plus, as was Averon's lovely flower garden..... More

Averon Guest House is a very nice place to stay in, when visiting Edinburgh. The staff were very kind and friendly. The house has an interesting history and a personal touch. On the day of our arrival the owner made a performance, playing Scottish music, showing and speaking about interesting places to visit in Scotland etc. This really enrichened our... More

We enjoyed our stay at Averon Guest House. Very charming room with lovely authentic fireplace. Very friendly staff, always helpful with a dash of humor. We also appreciated the Scottish live music played by Mr. Cran. Within walking distance of the city centre. Highly recommended. Nice and cosy.

Brilliant location short walk from city centre. Very helpful staff. Room clean large and comfortable, breakfast very enjoyable. No complains at all. Everything we needed was a pleasant walk. Plenty of things to see and do, we regretted not staying a few more days

I have 2 main things I look for in a place to stay and that is Cleanliness & Service, and the Averon is excellent at both. The staff are very helpful and very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They never bugged us once on days where we were tired and slept in, and were very accommodating if we... More

Have been several times before and always been happy with the Averon. it is clean and tidy and the breakfast sets you up well for the day. The ability to park there is a real boon and it is easy to get to. It is centrally located and we have no trouble walking to all the local attractions. The musical... More

Great location and service. We reached the hotel really late but the owner/manager was very welcoming and understanding. Excellent breakfast was served every morning. The traditional music night was an unexpected surprise and was wonderful. Rooms were a little small but well decorated and offered very good quality sleep. Overall it was a very good stay.
