I stayed here for 2 nights with 2 friends. The room was enormous only the bathroom was small compared to the room but there was everything. Eatable continental breakfast and 20/25 minutes walking from the Royal Mile so a reasonable distance. We paid 80£ for night for all the room that I think it's a quite good price. The only... More

I booked a room months before I was due to stay at this hotel, on arrival I was told they didn't have a room for me that night, so I stayed in an apartment they'd found instead. Allbeit, they took me to the apartment and brought me back to the hotel, but for the inconvenience I was only discounted the... More

Good points: - Cheap. - Relatively close to city centre. Bad points: - Room was advertised as having a private bathroom but did not specify that this would be a separate bathroom on a different floor to the room. Would not have booked had this been made clear. - Breakfast was the worst we had on our week's trip to... More

Hi, I booked this place for 2 Nights for my family (Triple Room -3 Bed 3 adults). Was a bit sceptical about it first as it was my first trip to Edinburgh but was pleasantly surprised with the facility and the location of this place. Owner is courteous and gives a sense of warmth and affection which a family member... More

When we booked we received an email that the price would be doubled because of the 6 nations rugby game Scotland-Ireland. On arrival they didn't even know there was a game on and many rooms were empty. The, more expensive, extension at the back is newly built. You can hear every movement of the neighbours; you might even hear them... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Minto Guest House in the large family room, which easily accommodated all five of us (kids aged 5-13). The room was adequately furnished with 3 single beds, 1 double, 1 wardrobe, 3 small nightstand/chest of drawers and ensuite bathroom with newish shower, toilet and sink with a large mirror. There was a also a... More

We stayed for one night and felt the room was good value for money in a nice old house. The location is decent, about a 15 minute walk to the royal mile. The room was spacious and pleasantly furnished. The biggest annoyance was the bathroom being situated down the hall, although it was private. The owner was helpful if chatty.... More

This guest house is basic, no internet, but clean and warm. I didn't have the breakfast, I seldom eat anything early in the morning so I can't comment on that. There are two parking spaces at the rear if you arrive first, otherwise there is free on street parking nearby. It is very quiet and comfortable. My room was en... More
