Fiona and Freddie were perfect hosts that treated us in a very friendly and familiar way and were open for all our questions. The typical scotish breakfast was delicious. The location is in a quiet street but within a walking distance from all the sights. The rooms were very clean as well as shower and bath. You really can`t expect... more

Recently visited Edinburgh, in mid September. A must see city with a unique lovely atmosphere, and heaps of history that can be best seen by walking. Made even better by our choice of bed and breakfast. Would highly recomend the Broughton to everyone who want a quiet area not far from the centre. A 15 minute walk to the Royal... more

My wife and I stayed at the Broughton whilst visiting the Tattoo in September 2009. It was situated in a trendy area with several restaurants and shops close by. The second hand book shop at the end of the street was a real gem! The royal mile was a 15 minute uphill walk away. The owners Fiona and Freddie were... more

This was our fourth visit to the Broughton Hotel and yet again we had a superbly relaxing time. The hotel has been redecorated and upgraded and the rooms are spotless. The owners have created a very friendly atmosphere. Freddie cooks a breakfast to die for with the most perfect fried eggs we have seen. A good variety on the breakfast... more

The service is perfect, a warm welcome, a quick administrations procedur, showing the room and telling us about whats going on in Edinburgh. The breakfast is realy Scottish, good, well done and served as you were a guest in the owners... more

Our second time of staying with the very welcoming Freddie and Fiona. Room facilities excellent with televison, refreshment tray and well timed central heating (a bit chilly first thing on an October morning in Edinburgh). Excellent full scotish breakfast, although the black pudding may be a little too spicey for some! Good free parking right in the centre of Edinburgh... more
