Just back from a 3 night stay at nira caledonia and had to write and say what an incredible hotel !! The staff are so friendly and helpful, from the manager to the cleaners , front of house and restaurant staff We booked a petite double and was surprised how big it was it was hottest weather I think Scotland's... We stayed at the Nira Caledonia and we loved it. It is located in a posh residential area (Stockbridge) close to restaurants, wine/cheese boutiques, as well as the local Stockbridge Market. The area is nice and quiet. The hotel is a series of townhouses with rooms located in both the upper and lower floors. I would highly recommend splurging for... More

Stayed here for 3 nights in an Executive Double (6-14), set up with twin beds. Room was of adequate size and felt modern. Highlights: - Staff! Everyone was very helpful, friendly and professional. Assisted with everything we asked for (with a smile) and everyone was always up for a small chat. Never felt stiff. - High-quality decor/furniture/towels - Jacuzzi and... More

Where to start since there are so many negatives? Reception so small you have to push other people out of the way to get to the stairs (there is no elevator). Rooms very small even the executive for which I was paying more than 220 GBP a night. The promised turn down service and complimentary water never came on any... More

Well "thetruth1119" Where do we start here? Think you have been the only person to score our lovely wee hotel 1 star . Our reception is small, we are a SMALL note, I really would prefer if you didn't push other guests out of the way , it's just rude. We don't have air conditioning , we are a listed... More

We wholeheartedly endorse the many other positive reviews for this hotel. My wife and I ended up visiting Edinburgh on a last minute lark. We found this hotel on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. Our room was very small, but very tastefully appointed. The bathroom was cramped (like being on a cruise ship), but had a spectacular shower with... More

We were in Edinburgh and celebrating my husbands 50th. What a find the Nira is, would really recommend it. On a quiet side street but within walking distance to centre and parking outside. Very relaxed feel - it has the character of a traditional building but with modern / comfortable / fittings. When we arrived we had been upgraded to... More

Hello PipF2014 A treat is about right, a little oasis of calm and personal service in a sea of bland chain hotels, is exactly what we strive to archive . We do try to upgrade if possible and my hand written cards are a nod to proper old school service from years ago in all hotels. I'm glad you both... More

Had a lovely stay there. The service was great, the staff were very friendly and the room was excellent. One minor criticism would be the jacuzzi having a bit of scum frothing from the tap and maybe the pump was a little low on power but other than the everything was really great.

Hello donnie745 Love that you enjoyed the service and the rooms, that's really the key things any hotel should get right. Just so you know I've spoken to the "scum" that frothed around your tap in the jacuzzi and gave it a telling off and told it not to come back ... I real terms though, this is probably the... More

I can't rate the Nira highly enough! Stayed for 1 night for my husband's 40th but wish it could have been longer. It's located on a lovely quiet street - you wouldn't think you were only 10 minutes walk from Princes Street. From the moment we arrived we felt very special - not least because of the upgrade to a... More

Hello Jo S I guess it's the. Little things that make us stand our , the hand written card, a little comp drink to a room on a special occasion , or just the way the whole team strive to make each guest stay a personal one. Reading your review to the team at our morning meeting made everyone's day.... More

My partner and I went for our anniversary and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel so "at home". Every single one of our needs were catered for and the room was a complete delight with a stunning little garden. The Jacuzzi bath was a dream and dinner in the restaurant was the perfect way to end... More
