The warm welcome on arrival set the tone for a great time at Nira Caledonia. The staff were all enthusiastic with attention to detail and a genuine interest in their guests being qualities that shone through again and again. Beautifully decorated the interior does not disappoint with the Blackwood's Bar & Grill a highlight - we had decided to have... More

From start to finish, this was a wonderful experience. We spent 5 days at the hotel in early April 2014, The hotel is situated on a lovely, quiet street of Georgian homes. Yet a 5 minute walk down the hill brings you to the local neighborhood of Stockbridge with its restaurants, bars, bakeries, butcher shops, fish mongers and thrift stores.... More

We tried to book a room in the hotel for a long weekend but the hotel was full (no surprise as it is such a changed place). We did however manage to book a meal for the Sunday night and I am pleased to say that the quality of the food was matched only by the service. From the welcome... More

I booked to stay here with my wife last weekend as a birthday treat for her. From initial booking, the contact between hotel and myself was first class. Emma, who dealt with our reservations, was extremely helpful on a number of occasions. When we arrived, we were welcomed outside by Neil who helped with check in and then showed us... More

Well Mark I. Firstly what a review, secondly thank you for the personal note you sent me after you stay also. It makes such a difference as GM to hear from guests directly rather than just on review forums. I think you mention nearly the whole team, I have ensured they all read your review and I have passed on... More

Stayed here for 1 night on 05/04/14 with my girlfriend, we had the Petite double room as it was the only one left. Petite was the right description, however it was decorated very nicely, the bathroom was great, and the bed extremely comfortable! Staff made us feel very welcome and brought us a complimentary drink to our room :-) I... More

I loved my stay here. Situated only a few streets over from the Princes Street the location was perfect. The street was quiet but still in walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. All the staff we met were very chatty, friendly and helpful. The room was gorgeous, really luxurious! The only thing I would say is that the... More

Turtlelucas. What a great review , I hope your husband had a brilliant 30th birthday and also found time to relax and unwind. The jacuzzi baths are a little complicated but our concierge are available to assist at all time should you need them and here is a wee how to guide in the in room directory . I hope... More

We stayed here to celebrate my 40th birthday and had an amazing time. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble and they were so welcoming to our 3 year old girl. Food here is also incredible. Lovely small hotel a short walk from city centre - would highly recommend.

Hello Pandapalms Great review, thank you for posting. Did you know 80% of our guests use Tripadvisor to decide on which hotel to choose but only 10% take the time to post a review after a stay? Any way glad you all had a good time with us , we do love when families come and stay as we love... More

We booked this hotel off the back of some favourable TripAdvisor reviews and after staying this weekend I can see why! A great little boutique hotel 5 minutes walk from George St/Princes St. The rooms were very well appointed, the breakfast was superb and the location is great. All you could possibly need for a short weekend break in Edinburgh.

My other half and I stayed one night in the Blackwood Suite earlier in the week, and we haven't stopped telling everyone how impressed we were! We were warmly greeted outside the door, even though the weather was poor, and immediately were checked in, offered help with our luggage (which we didn't have much of) and personally shown to our... Hi AnnaF Your review sounds like the "perfect stay" thank you so much for taking a few moments to post as it really does help a small hotel like ours gain popularity on sites like these. The BlackWood suite is beautiful since it's full refurbishment and it's garden is perfect for a wee glass of wine in the evening or... More
