Lovely host. Room 6 top floor rear room. Clean fresh bedding. Quiet room. On suite. Spotlessly clean room. Breakfast excellent for vegan and vegetarian. Host keen to cook as much as you want. Full cooked, fresh fruit, cereals, juices etc. host even went the extra mile letting you know what was happening in city and let us leave our luggage... More

What a nice and lovely surprise:) Absolute recommendable. Nice and comfortable room! Very good quality and different choice for breakfast. Cathy is a very nice and warm person I felt like home which is so great when you are travelling around! One day I could not have breakfast because I went to a day tour, Cathy was so nice to... More

The house is on a street full of B&B options and on the bus route. My bedroom was very pretty, with a sink, a shared-bathroom, coffee & tea in room, comfortable bed, and very relaxing vibe. Breakfast was truly the best you can imagine. I am not vegetarian and I would definitely choose her home over any other just to... More

Have stayed twice at the Claymore now, and will definitely return next time we go to Edinburgh. Welcoming, comfortable and warm accommodation, with a great range of veggie and vegan breakfast options that were most appreciated after a night out. It's not too far to walk from the main areas of Edinburgh, or you can easily get a bus or... More

This is such a delightful place to stay. The house is comfortable and clean, the decor restful but interesting, the food is fabulous (including for vegans) and the welcome is warm. We have stayed there two years running for August festival trips and hope to return.

I just returned from three nights at Claymore with my husband and mother as part of an eight day trip to Scotland. We arrived at around 11am, jet-lagged but not expecting to get into our room until later that day. However, Cathy welcomed us in and informed us that the room was ready. We had booked the family room that... More

This is a very charming guesthouse with spacious and well-decorated rooms -- in my opinion, larger and prettier than those of much more expensive classic hotel that a friend of mine chose to stay in. It's about a 20 minute brisk walk to the city centre, or just a few minutes on the bus which stops opposite the front door.... More

We have a vegan in the family, which can make travel a bit tricky, and gigantic egg-butter-bacon breakfast menus sometimes leave nothing but juice and dry toast as an options. We chose this hotel because of the vegetarian/vegan friendly aspect, but we liked it for more than that. Our rooms were really nice--airy, light, colourful and comfortable. The owner/hostess is... Just back from this quirky B+B after a 2 night stay. Very quirky with mismatched crockery etc. The fact that its was a meat free house had no bearing on my stay there. Cathy was great and very helpful. About 15-20 minute walk to the main attractions. Loved it - will be back

Our first time staying here and couldn't fault it. A very comfortable room which was at the back of the house so no noise from the road. The owner, Cathy, was very pleasant and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious. Fried halloumi and tattie scones, mmm. The location is very convenient for the city centre - just a short bus...
