Myself and my wife Norah stayed at this guest house on 22-24 Aug. We was celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary and was visit toEdinburgh for the first time. The location was ideal,a five minute walk to the lovely Portobello beach and bus stop to the centre right outside. The hosts were absolutely amazing, especially Angela who made us feel really welcome... More

A lovely guesthouse excellently located outside Edinburgh on a bus route with buses running every 10-15 minutes 24/7. Buy a day pass for £4. The room and especially the bed were very comfortable. Breakfasts are included, made to order, and delicious, served in a conservatory overlooking a very pretty garden. Angela is a wonderful host and we would have no... More

My husband and I visited Edinburgh last weekend for our first wedding anniversary and stayed at this beautiful guest house for 3 nights. From start to finish it was perfect. The owners were so lovely and welcoming providing great advise about the city, local attractions and general 'chit chat' making us feel right at home. They also gifted us a... More

From the moment we walked into this B&B and were greeted warmly by Angela we loved it. The rooms were spotless, the bed comfortable and the breakfast wonderful. My food allergies were catered for and we felt almost part of the family. The bus stop is almost outside the front door and only takes about 15 minutes to reach the... More

Some years since we've been back to Edinburgh to stay at the Abercorn. Previous visits have been excellent and this was just as good if not better! Angela and Wullie are super hosts, so warm, fun and willing to do anything to accommodate their guests. The rooms have to be seen to be believed and are all spacious and super... More

This B&Bis the best. From the welcome to the end of your stay nothing is a problem. The house and grounds are well kept with a very homely atmosphere. Breakfasts are fantastic and presented like a work of art. Go stay and be happy

We stayed here with a couple of friends and we all felt that the bedrooms were a little tired and our bed in particular was dreadful as we could feel the springs. We later found out that there were other better rooms but that was no comfort to us. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful and even reorganised their... More

We popped in, unannounced on the 11th June on the off chance that Abercorn Guest House might have a room for the night. We were greeted with the warmest, happiest welcome I think we have ever had at any accommodation before by the wonderful Angela, (the owner). We were fortunate to get a delightful room, tastefully decorated and absolutely immaculate.... More

I stayed here to run the Edinburgh marathon with my daughter. The owners were extremely friendly and were happy for us to arrive late in the evening. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. After the marathon, we were kindly allowed to shower and pick up our bags. The owners were great: friendly, helpful and chatty. A... More
