we stayed here for 2 nigth break. very clean hotel, with relaxed but attentive staff. we stayed in room 1, usual amenities, HUGE comfortable bed, dressing area with shower room off. Single glazed window but this room is at the back so not an issue. Lovely huge stained glass window on the half landing. cosy bar/restaurant. limited menu but this... More

We stayed at the hotel last week, allocated room 1 on 1st floor, at the back; my wife and I were on a ‘living social 2 night deal’. The room was clean, well decorated and was warm, no bath but a fairly decent size shower. On arrival we received a warm welcome and were informed that as the bar area... More

When I made a serious complaint in the morning, just greeted with total rudeness and aggression so our stay was an unpleasant experience. Also very noisy on one side (main road), far from centre, no atmosphere and some of the food awful.

This is a curate's egg. On the plus side, staff were friendly, helpful and obliging. Room (no 7) was large and had obviously been recently redecorated; the food was well cooked and presented and wine was well chosen and priced. What would make it excellent? Four niggling specifics that would have really improved our enjoyment (a) servicing of the room... More

First impression not very good - entrance hall and reception in desperate need of redecoration - dull, tired and not very clean. On arrival to room (6), the receptionist brought the wrong key (9 instead of 6). On unpacking, the first drawer we opened was full of ladies frilly underwear. Strange discovery on a mini break for our Wedding Anniversary... More

We visited the vic park, leith, on a special deal but this did not affect the friendly welcome. The bar had a good selection beers and the restaurant a good menu. The first night was Inc. And was very enjoyable. The second night Inc a free bottle of wine but was still a reasonable price for 1 starter,2 mains and... More

I stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Reading some previous negative reviews i expected the worst. I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff is most polite and helpful, the room was small but warm and clean, bathroom was clean and towels were fresh. Lovely breakfast and plenty. Yes, being an interior decorator, i could tell the place could use a... More

I and 3 of my friends stayed for a couple of nights at this Hotel. Hotel itself a bit in need of renovation but staff could not be more helpful. Breakfasts and dinners were superb. Very good value for money. Returning next month.

Booked for New Years Eve break; arrived early evening and left to explore Bar area; would have benefited from a run down of facilities etc. Had meal in Restaurant the first night which was good but unaware of breakfast times the following day and arrived late. This hotel suited our needs and was clean and warm.

The hotel staff here are friendly and very helpful. The hotel was as expected for a 3* small hotel .... clean with pretty average facilities. We travelled as a group of women and had booked 3 rooms. None of them were warm enough; the radiators only luke warm on a cold January weekend, with no means of turning them up,... More
