Room was great size with good facilities. Breakfast was excellent. Service from our hosts was warm and welcoming. Had to leave very early on day of departure and a continental breakfast was made available in our room. Within walking distance to Edinburgh or 10 mins on the bus made all attractions readily acceptable. Overall an enjoyable experience More

After having no luck in finding a hotel anywhere in Edinburgh for New Year's Eve 2011 (admittedly we were booking quite late), i started searching for guest houses with parking and found Brae Lodge on the Visit Scotland website. My husband and I booked the 'budget' double room with en-suite bathroom for £78 a night, and for a 2-night stay... More

We stayed at Brae Lodge at the beginning of our Scotland trip and booked the most affordable, but also smallest room. The accommodation was fine, though the room and bathroom were very tiny; very much reminding you of a youth hostel. It was clean and as we did not spend much time at the Guest House, it was perfectly fine.... More

The double room was quite large or looked large with a bay window. It come with a tea table, two armchairs, a sofa bed. En-suite bath had a shower but no bathtub. Hard to keep close shower wall. The owner was very conscientious. Full Scottish breakfast with haggis was served. I am not sure if there is enough car park... More

Myself and my partner stayed here for two nights during the Fringe Festival. We had a fantastic stay. The owners were very friendly, hospitable and helped us with any queries we had. The accommodation was clean and the bed was very comfortable which was important to my partner as he had a slipped disk and needed to lie in the... More

Perfect location for the City of Edinburgh being right next to the Lothian bus service and easy driving (as easy as it gets in Edinburgh)! Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice. The room was clean and tidy. One minor minor thing, need more tea bags in the room please.... More

We stayed here 3N. Neil and Lesley have thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome. Lesley's homemade shortbread on arrival was delicious. The compendium of info in our room was excellent, especially the bus details, shops and restaurants nearby. There are plenty of brochures in the entrance way. Breakfasts are served in a lovely dining area with printed... More

My husband and I stayed there for two nights and we found that it was good value for money. We were able to leave the car in the car park for the two days and travel into Edinburgh by bus, the bus stop being only a few yards away and buses being very regular. Neil was very pleasant and the... More
