This is a lovely bed and breakfast to stay in!! The room had lots of natural light and was spacious! The breakfast were so amazing and had different specials to choose from every day. Would definitely recommend!

A little disappointed, maybe we have been spoilt, by staying in better accommodation previously, and being ex hoteliers my friend and myself both owned separate hotels, and were quite surprised, to find that after booking, we were told that we couldn't check in until 4pm after requesting to arrive at 2pm,were told that they wouldn't be there until after 4pm,... A bit late with this review as I was here in May. from the start I was made very welcome, and nothing within reason was a problem for them, Even borrowing shoe polish. In the mornings I had to leave early which was accomodated with an early breakfast and great banter. It felt like home from home, thanks again.

Location is good, very close to a frequent bus line from North Bridge (and an option to Waverley Bridge, too). Nice and freshly renovated rooms (early 2014), very helpful owner (Neil) made all the difference. Nice Scottish breakfast options. Would definitely return. The rooms are well described on their website: most are not large, but more than enough for a... More

We had a wonderful stay of 4 nights in Brae Lodge. Hosts Neil and Lesley were so welcoming. Made our stay very memorable. We enjoyed our breakfasts and were very well looked after. Our room was very comfortable, lovely decor and spotlessly clean. Would love to be able to stay there again.

Lovely clean room with en-suite. Great location not too far from town and serviced with transport links. Easy to find as well, not far from the Edinburgh By-Pass turn off at Straiton. I considered it to be great value for money. Ticks all the boxes.

Bus stop virtually at the front door makes it so easy to get around Edinburgh without the stress of using your car. A real bonus. Host Neil was very welcoming and helpful while Lesley's breakfast specials were a great start to the day. While the room we booked was compact, it was fresh, spotless and very comfortable.

Very nice and friendly Landlord, very clean rooms, comfortable, breakfast was delicious. You get to the city centre by bus in few minutes and in case of emergency can even walk the distance. The prices are absolutely reasonable. I can only recommend this guest house!

Hello Hotel Hunters! During April 2014, we stayed at Brae Lodge for 4 nights [3 nights as solo female guest, joined by husband on the 4th night]. Like most people, we read the best and worst 'tripadvisor' reviews before booking. Looking back on our stay, and re-reading the lowest rated online comments, it's a shame that some people didn't enjoy... More

Brae Lodge is conveniently located, off street parking, bus at the door and Edinbugh has a great bus service to access all the attractions. Accommodation is a bit basic, smallish room with ensuite built into original bedroom - notice other reviews indicate more spacious rooms. We had a nice quiet room at the back. Nice fast WiFi but tiny TV... More
