Unable to get a second night at hotel I had been in and booked in here as it was first I came across. I felt price was a bit steep as more than I had paid the previous night for hotel with pool and spa but was too tired to look elsewhere. Inside seemed fine but once inside room I... More

We stayed here for two nights, early Autumn 2011 on the last leg of our Scotland road trip. We chose the Brae Lodge due to its close proximity to Edinburgh centre, which was easily accessible via bus that stopped just outside. Neil was welcoming to us, showing us around and our rooms. The room was a double room, it was... More

I spent two peaceful days at Brae Lodge. It has a great location if you want to leave the car, as there are frequent bus services outside and it only takes 15 to 20 minutes to get into the city centre. The room was clean and spacious - superking #2. The homemade shortbread in the room was excellent, especially with... More

Off road parking was a boon, with a convenient bus stop 30 metres down the road, so we didn't have to use the car at all during our stay. We arrived early but had no trouble checking in, pleasant experience. We had the superking room #2, which was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Some home made biscuits to... More

Just spent 2 nights at Brae Lodge. Overall very impressed. Clean and smart rooms and a good breakfast, so would recommend. Felt very welcome by the owner Only slight downside is that its a little out of town, so if you want to step out stright into the city action, this might not be for you. But otherwise a great... We were greeted warmly by Neil, who then served up delicious homemade scones and tea for us which were much appreciated after our drive across Scotland. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small, but met our needs. The bus routes into the city pass by right outside the front door and Neil was able to tell us... More

We have just left the Brae Lodge after a 5 night stay and were very happy with the service they provided. Neil made us feel most welcome from the outset and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very adiquate for the needs, clean and comfortable. There was a regular bus-route into the heart of he city right outside... More

We needed a place to allow us easy access to Edinburgh, and to the East Lothians. Brae Lodge was great for this. We found Neil and Lesley friendly, good fun and keen to help, but also not intrusive, which we appreciated. The breakfasts offered us a good choice, with imaginative specials as well as the standard 'full breakfast', were well... More

We have been touring Scotland for 15 days and by far this was the most unwelcoming B&B of all compared to the other B&B s we resided in . The first thing we were asked is to pay in advance our two night stay, and although we paid in cash we were asked to provide our credit card details. The... More

We stayed for three nights at Brae Lodge. Neil and Lesley were very wlecoming and Lesley's home made shortbread is yummy! The room was comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was excellent, with specials each day and lovely ' Full Scottish'. We will return when in Edinburgh.
