I only stayed in Edinburgh for one night but I was quite happy with the hostel. Although the staff were not always in the check in booth so I had to wait a little while to check in, they were so kind and made up for that fact. Also, the room's are quite nice and the bathroom's are kept clean... More

Spent 4 nights there, relatively cheap and well serviced for a backpackers hostel. Well equipped kitchen, got showers, free wifi and choice of single sex or mixed dorms was appreciated. Towels provided for cheap rate, close to public transport and easy walking distance to main shopping precinct and Old Town. Would definitely come back!

The hostel is easily located and just a 10 minute straight walk to princes street. I also liked the communal area, it was clean. There is free wifi available and a kitchen area including an oven and microwave. The showers were hot and there was always toilet paper and a hand dryer. The floor was clean and dry. There is... This is probably one of the best hostels I have been to in my life....in the sense that I got a room for 10 pounds and was not expecting much....but then, I was surprised all the way. Clean and comfortable rooms, okay Lounge, good natured administrators.....although I did not like the idea of the Lounge Room being closed after 11:00... More

I had a lovely stay here, I needed a place to stay for a night while I was stopping off in Edinburgh and I was attracted to the place by its great location opposite Haymarket station which made it very easy to find and get to from the airport (the bus transfer stops right outside). The people on reception were... More

the hostel is smelly and dirty. the covers of blankets are never changed, what you get fresh is just sheet and pillow. the kitchen is closed until 8AM-no hot water to make your tea until then. the lady doesn't speak good English, the man is not very polite. bathrooms are filthy and for men and women there is just one... 1st time in a hostel... Never ever again. I'm not a snob but the mixed showers & toilets stank the sanitary waste in there was just an open top bin in the middle of the bathroom..... Disgusting!!! my pillow was yellow on my bed. Lady on reception was very nice won't stay there again though.

We are a family of five that stayed in a family room. There were two bunk beds, one with a double bunk on the bottom and three single bunks. The room was warm, we had a window, but it could only be propped open a little. The beds were not very comfortable. The shared bathroom could have been cleaner and... More

We stayed in The Hostel for a hen party during the Edinburgh Fringe and had a 16 bed dorm for 14 of us. The service provided by staff was really friendly, and The Hostel was in a fab location (10/15 mins) walking distance to the centre with places to have a drink and small places to eat much closer. Would... More
