We stayed for two nights with our son daughter in law and baby granddaughter. Superb location, very comfortable rooms with lovely beds. We have stayed at many hotels on city breaks and would highly recommend this premier inn because the staff were so helpful, pleasant and the breakfast was beautiful. I even had porridge freshly made each morning for me.... More

Stayed for a long weekend. The Hotel has great location, close to Edinburgh Castle and Grassmarket. Room standard is average and have comfortable beds. Helpful staff organized room change for us as we got badly located room. Some of the rooms are not that good, facing towards a busy street. Avoid room 101 and 102. Ask for a room on... More

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel on a school trip and really appreciated the efforts that all the staff made to ensure that we had a comfortable, enjoyable stay. They were extremely helpful and accommodating and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Comfortable, clean affordable accommodation and an excellent dinner as well. Location was perfect... We stayed for 3 nights on business - sharing a room was no problem. Single bed was comfy and enough room for all our stuff. Lovely hotel. Really friendly people and excellent breakfast and bar in the evening.

We've seen accessible rooms in other Premier Inn hotels and they seemed fine. One in particular in Glasgow was great - large amount of space for wheelchair access, wet room, shower seat, fantastic. So we expected something similar at this Premier Inn. Shockingly the room was absolutely not fit for someone confined to a wheelchair. Sorry, but lowering the peep-hole... More

Checked in for a function at College of Art I picked hotel for nearness to college without realising it was almost next door. Staff were very friendly and we were allocated a room that didnt face onto road. It was a lovely evening and the room was a bit hot and stuffy especially after we had showers. Would have been... Lovely premier inn. Only negative I have is that there wasn't a hair dryer in my room. Very comfortable, clean and quiet stay. About 20 minute walk to Princes street. (Main shopping street) although taxi costs about £6 to get you there.

Visited the city for one night with my other half. We only paid £35 for the room (stayed on a Sunday night) and I was very pleased with the hotel. Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
