You always know what to expect from a premier inn and this was no exception. The room was comfortable and quiet and ideal for a short break.. We had breakfast in the restaurant with a good choice of fruit, cereals, breads and croissants and a buffet style cooked breakfast. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the castle... More

I was happy overall with the hotel but my room (308) was over the traffic junction and every time the lights changed, the on/off switch (accelerator pedal) was pressed and the race was on. Perhaps I'm a light sleeper but having stayed with Premier at Leicester Square without any disturbance I was a little disappointed. Is it value for money,... More

First visit to Edinburgh for hubby birthday. Warm welcome on arrival. Stored our cases as we arrived early. Lovely clean room, nice size and very comfy bed. Booked dinner for that eve and not disappointed. Excellent food and even put balloons and a card on the table for Hubby then gave free desert for birthday. Very quiet room best night... More

Stayed at this Premier Inn with our 2 children and was not disappointed. We had a warm welcome upon arrival and were delighted with the room, large, clean and very comfy beds with everything you would expect in the room. We were woken around 7am on a few mornings with noise from the outside but guessed this must be collections/deliveries... More

I stayed here recently while on business as it was very handy to the location I was working at. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and even with my very late check in everything went off without a hitch and the staff could not do enough to assist in any of my needs. Breakfast was... More

Stayed for 4 nights in this hotel. The room was excellent and the bed was very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Loved the breakfast options. There were lot of vegetarian options too in the menu.

Excellent location, usual good quality beds and decent sized rooms. Staff were very friendly, professional and efficient. Good breakfast, porridge was excellent, poached eggs were overdone. On the bus route to the airport and to Leith.

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
